Jocelyn said :thea Internet can
be trusted as much as any other
anecdotal evidence can be, but
it allows them to find many dif-
ferent sources of information
before making a decision.
The usefulness of the Internet
is being pushed by agriculture
experts such as Ross Daily, pro-
ducer of
ro-ducer:of AgriNews and This
Business of Farming. He spoke;
.at a meeting in Mitchell recent
ly:
"You have got to be on the
Internet, that's all there" is to it,"
he said to approximately 225
farmers.
"I can understand your reluc-
tance...as most feel, intimidated -
by computers. They feel an ,
and betrayed that ;they ve
slipped` technology ink and said
'you can't: survive -without this "
Daily said it doesn't have to,be
difficult -since the Internet has a
"very steep learning curve, but
it's short."
There are Internet service
providers popping ; up all. over
Huron and Bruce Counties.
Linking to the Internet usually
requires a 486 computer and
costs about $25 per month.
