That thought went through my head last week while I was driving. Beats me why it did, but I 'started thinking about how careful we have become in this society.It'snecessary to lock everything up. I carry two key, chains with me - one in each pock- ' et of [yt` during -the winter,• and when the better weather is here they:can be found somewhere in,my purse. On those two.chains I` have a total of 13` keys. Inside my purse, carefully stored away are another two, keys . that : are` just as impor- tant but ,because they are. used very rarely it isn't nec- essary to keep them close at hand. • Logically one could think I' am nuts carrying that many keys around. 1, thought so too,, until 1 sat down and tried to.'eliminate some of the weight from my pockets. No could do. 1 have two car keys - doors and .ignition; three keys for. various offices, three mail box keys for different boxes; a file cabinet; key; two house keys . yes • they 'are for !different doors; and two miscellaneous - in other words I'm not Are what they 'are for, but. they must be important if X. put them on the•.key chain. and no doubt some . day I'll needthem. That may not be logi- cal thinking, but 1 •never. professed to being: logical all the time! I'm not the only illogical one in; our household,. how ever. In our junk drawer (everybody has;one, don't they?) there is'.a slew of . keys.' We've been collecting , them for 27 -years. At one time they were immportant, obviously, or we wouldn't have them. But every time I. clean the junk drawer and attempt to throw thein out, Mr. Pixit has a fit and back they -go the :furthest recess of the catch all. I've become a slave to my keys. The last thing I do before leaving the house or the .office is check to make sure 1 have 'both key chains. Y' guess 1 too am *one of those who carries her lifeon her key chains.
