Ivan' Cook joined the
volunteer department in
1965 and served as fire
chief from 1975 1985.
During his tenure, he
was involved in fighting
two memorable 'res.
The first was the former
Pine -River'. Cheese Factory,
a wooden structure that was
a total loss.
The second fire was a
double fatality 4 a trailer
fire that claimed•the lives of
a man and woman in the
early 1970s. Cook remem-
bers the day Well as earlier.
