Teachers settle contract
Students in Huron County will not get an unscheduled vacation, as a
result of a teacher's .strike.
The 420 elementary teac=hers and the Huron County , Board of
Education (HCBE) have ratified a collective agreement for the 1990/91
and 1991/92 school years, The teachers are represented by, the Huron
Women Teachers' Association (HWTA) and the Ontario Public 'School'
Teachers''Federation (OPSTIi):
The agreement was announced recently in an kiCBE. press release,
Under the settlement,, teachers will receive an annual "ia of 6.1
per cent in grid salaries in 1990/9.1. A further five per cent irior+ease will
