Peter's Parish Hall`last Sunday. Mr. Reid` retired in July, following a career of 46 years repairing footwear

The Whitechurch UCW meeting
was held at Mildred McClenaghann's
home on October 3. The topic was
Christian stewardship and finance, -
with leader Pauline Adams. Mrs.•
Adams gave the call to worship and
followed with prayer. Thanksgiving
hymns were sung throughout the ,
meeting.
Psalm 142 was . read by Mts.
Adams and she followed with scrip-
ture from Matthew 13, 36-43 and
John 6,1-14 and all read in unison
Psalm 23.
A letter was read from the Man-
date Magazine from missions in
Kenya, Korea and South Africa
telling' of their work.

The October meeting of ..the
Whitechurch Women`s Institute was
held on October 10 with a visit to
the Godench museum. This was the
curators and Canadian industry
meeting with Agnes Farrier and
Helen Currie as convenors.
A shut fihn was shown called the
First Winter, showing what the first
winter could have been like for the
settlers in Huron County, Everyone
enjoyed" the tour of the museum
which is much better • since their
renovations. A short business
meeting followed, in . the lounge.
Marjorie Wall opened the meeting.
Jess Tiffin read the mirages from
last meeting: A thank you note was
read from Janet Lane who had been
a speaker in • the summer at a
meeting.
