The Lucknow Sentinel, 1990-10-17, Page 7A retirement party, in honour of LuCknow's well-known tikOe repairman, Lorne Reid, was held at St:. Peter's Parish Hall`last Sunday. Mr. Reid` retired in July, following a career of 46 years repairing footwear and other articles and sharpening skates for Lucknow and area residents. Seated on the left is Lerne's sister, Jessie Stevenson. Bertha Whitarolt was one of the many who stopped by during the day t'u Iyisk Lorne welt in his retirement. Lorne is godfather to Bertha's daughter, Margaret -Ann. A letter was read from the Man- date Magazine from missions in Kenya, Korea and South Africa telling' of their work. This was the curators and Canadian industry meeting with Agnes Farrier and Helen Currie as convenors.
