teams' reports
Squirts
The boys and girls have had a
busy schedule practicing and play-
ing games. Lucknow's youngest
team, the Squirts, played their first
ever game against Goderich. The
children certainly learned a lot
from this game and had a lot of
fun. Unfortunately they were on the
short end of an 11 - 0 score. Better
luck next time!
Atoms
The Atoms,aged 8 - 10, played
June 28 aginst Goderich, who
turned out to be a very strong
disciplined team and were ahead 3
- 0 at the end of the first • half.
Ean Moffat who played in the net
the first half, went out as centre
forward for the second half and
scored a hat trick to lead his team
on the comeback trail.
Unfortunately Goderich stayed
the course and answered with five
more goals to make the final score
8 - 3 for them.
It must be noted however that
they played their best 14 players
the whole game.
• A special thanks to coach Ken Ir-
win and Wayne Phillips, who
refereed the game.
Lucknow is scheduled to play
Blyth on July 2. Coaches Wayne
Phillips and Ken Irwin are doing a
great job.
Mosquitos
The Mosquitos coached by Steve
Freeman and Jack Mali have been
improving steadily. Lucknow hosted
Blyth on June 14, with Blyth out
playing the hometown boys, corning
out on top with a 4 - 1 score Ean
Moffat scored Lucknow's only goal.
Thanks to Lucknow Village
Market for supplying pop for both
teams.
On June 21, Lucknow travelled to
Goderich to play a very strong, ex-
perience
xperience team. Again Lucknow as
defeated 7 - 0.
June 27, Lucknow met up with
Wingham. Ben Brophy played a
good game scoring twice. Chad
Freeman and Ean Moffat both pop-
ped in one. The final score was 4 -
1.
George Carter did a great job as
goalie. A good effort was put forth
by Jonathon MacKinnon, Tevor
Moffat and Shelly Johnston. Con-
gratulations to the whole team for
a good game.
The Mosquitos are looking real
sharp in their new uniforms, thanks
to the generous donation of the
Lucknow Lions.

Keith Richards, of the 12th con-
cession, Huron Township and his
three sons, Jamie, Derek and Scott
just returned from Akron, Ohio
where they were at the Volkswagon
Car show last weekend.
They crossed at Sarnia travelling
through Detroit and were impress-
ed by the construction and low
prices such as gasoline at .89 per
gallon. Quite a difference compared
to our equivalent of $2.59 per
gallon.
Michelle Andrew (left), one of the grade eight graduates, made a special
Presentation to Dee Dee Graham, one of their grade eight teachers. Mrs.
Graham has, over the years, had a long association with Brookside School
and students. Come September Mrs. Graham will take up a new position
at F. E. Madill Secondary School, where no doubt she will run into some
of her grade eight gradates. (Pat Livingston photo)
