Basketball
- by Tina Jewson
The two coaches of L.C.P.S. girls
basketball had a lot of,trouble picking a
team this year with around 27 gals from
grades 0-8. to choose from.
On the first cut we had only 15 giris
left, then after the second cut and lots of
hardwork we were down to 11. Our in-
' eludes Carrisaa Redford, Tracy LeBreton,
Tracy Visor, Julie Carter, Tina Jewson,
Kristen. O'Neil, Angela Cranston Dawne
Rhody, Heather Askes and Kelly
Stevenson.
After a lot of practise we played our•
first game against the guys, of course we
didn't give them much canpetition bit we
gave them enough. They likely beat us
but no one was keeping score.
Our second big game was on April 6
playing Teeswater.girls down 14-0 we
came back 16-14 but'Teeswater beat us
by 4 baskets 40-52 a good game on both
sides. ,
Our two coaches who have been
' pushing us to work hard and do our. best
are Mr. McKeon, our school's grade eight
teacher and Sharon Askes, a high school
student. They are doing a great job, and
we thank them for taking their time to
teach us and make such a great team. ,
We hope to do well in the tournaztient
this year. •
The Mystery of the Missing Cat!!
Chad Sellers, Gr. 3
Once upon :a time there was a family with
one son. His none was William. He lived
. with his parents. They had 13 cats. One day
they sold all the cats except one. It' was
white with a black head. One day the cat
was missing.
William was the first to notice. He asked
his mon where the cat was. She didn't know
and she didn't care: The next day he saw his
girlfriend with the same cat. He asked her
where she got It. She didn't say anything.
William went on a search. He found some
cat tracks in his back yard. He looked over
in some brushes and he found his cat and
two little kittens.
