From the Principal's Desk
Mr. Whiteley •–••
• Mother Nature failed to cooperate with
our snow day and it had to be postpon
ed despite a great 'deal of disappointment
by all. We hope to have it before the end '
of February. •
Our' skipping clubs are working very
well and we hope to have The Huron
Hearts. Skipping Team come out to
demonstrate on February 27.
There has been a -great deal going on
in our classrooms as well. Each of us has
been practising for aublic speaking
assignment, our older pups are prepar-
ing for science fair, and ,we have
prepared .for and enjoyed all the ac=
tivities related toy our 100th day at school.
Did you know we have 34 new boys and.•
girls planning to attend our school next
year? Kindergarten registration is a Mon-
day February. 26. It too promises to be a
busy day.
Mrs. Cameron, Grade K1
Valentine's Day was lots .of fun. We
made cards, envelopes and lots of hearts.
. In number work we are learning about
longer and shorter. We are excited that
we have snow again!
Miss Watt Grade 1 •
Valentine's day was full of love and .
sharing. We had fun with our party and
we exchanged lots of valentines.. We are
doing a Valentine's unit and we are ,
almost finished - how exciting! Roses are
-red, violets are blue, we know many.
Valentine words, how about you!
Miss Mathers Grade 1/2
Miss Mathers class has been busy
rotating through Valentine's Day centres .
.....,and their classroom is full of heart crea-
tions. Wei had a wonderful Valentine's
Day and hope you spread lots, of warm
fuzzies to your friends, too.
Miss Morton, Grade 3
We took a brief All Star break and will
resume next week. Our Valentine's Day
celebrations were very successful. Some
never did figure out whom their cards
were from. Thank you to all students who
brought special treats for our party.
Another thank -you to Mrs. .Clarke for
reading James and the Giant Peach to
us. We are, looking forward to the
Erehwon theatre production of James.
Mr. Yeo, Grade 3/4
February is a busy month • for our
Grade fours. Over half of them have bir-
thdays to celebrate. Parties, cake and ice
cream are a frequent event.
On Tuesday February 13 the class
celebrated the 100th day of school with
Mrs. Scott's class. Collections of 100
busy
BROOKSIDE BROADCAST
items were shared. The toothpick 'collec-
tion didn't need a large container, while
the collection of 100 lego blocks was
much larger. Activities of walking 100
steps, measuring the length of 100 things
or guessing what 100 things, would fit in
a box were fun!
For Valentine's Day the pupils chose
the name of someone. They were to
make a lunch for this person and
decorate this special meal. The lunches
were packed so full, it took half an hour
to eat them. Some even had puzzles and
mazes, to complete.. .
Mrs; Worsen, Grade 5
We' would like to welcome Jassie
Dhaliwal back after her trip to India. She
gave a very interesting class presentation
about her trip. We enjoyed looking at the
money and the souvenirs that she'
brought back. : '.
