A report in last week's Teamster News
s itest that tte ofTw.at+rr Agricultural
Society's hoard, Directors is facing the
serious radiation . there is not otic person
wining to stand for the positions of
dent, vice-president or second
Wee -president
The new story goes on to say, that
secretary -treasurer Doreen MacAdarn of
R. 2, Wingharn,. said "We bad only one
vice president, Don Gowiand, of Culross
last year (no second vice president) and
he is unwilling to sitep up to • presidency
this year because of heavy commitments.
likewise, our president, Frank Murray,
who has already served a term as presi-
dent; is not prepared to remain ass presi-
dent fora second term,"
Apparently, it is felt that the volunteer
spirit of this organization hat been slow-
ly whittled away by,the necessity of the
farm population turning to second jobs,•
usually off farm. jobs to boost the failing
agricultural rewards of the past decade.
Add to that theof
two wage earners,
of schedules s,i tte both working off
the farm, running the farm and little.
time left to participate in family func-
tions, eager volunteers are hard to'find,•

all directors as themto consider tak-
ing an executive • position. If :the results
are not positive,, the fair board will have
to go to a public meeting and , consider.
disbanding the organization.
This is a sad scenario for the
Teamster AgSoclel , 'uepsIui-
Tona that not be faced by others in
near future.
