Unit 3 of Lucknow United Church
Women, net for their, first meeting of the
. New Year on January 16 with an atten-
dance of 17. The rollcall was answered
by the paying of fees, Marg Finlay was
pianist for the hymns.
Anne Anderson opened the meeting
with a New Year's reading, Each
• member was asked to place a small
sticker on the global map, showing their
origin.
Laura Lee" Cayley introduced the new
study book, Canada's Cultural Mosaic,
The Mission . Study is on the many
religions and cultures and how these fit
into our history.
The scripture from Acts 2 was heard
on tape in Dutch, with Mrs. Anderson
continuing in English,'
Mrs. Anderson' read an article on a
country of immigrants. Mrs. Cayley read
from the mandate, stories from the bible,
• byour moderator Rt, Rev. Sang Chul
Lee. A discussion followed on his state-
ment - the gaol of God's ministry is to
accomplish a multicultural society in
God's kingdom. Prayer • closed. the
discussion.
Mrs. Cayley described °the prayer
customs of the Muslim faith.
Mary Boyle, unit *leader, conducted the
business opening with the UCW Purpose..•
Norma Weatherhead was secretary.
Mildred Cameron gave .the treasurer's'
report for 1989. Kathleen Collyer read an
article for. citizenship and Velma Morn-
ingstar reported for supply. Yarn had
been donated and Marion McFarlane ask-
ed for knitters. Kay Crawford reported
for .community friendship; Alice Ritchie
for stewardship .and amnesty by Laura
Lee Cayley. '
The Fellowship of the Least Coin was
conducted by Marg Finlay on The Living
Hope, a Voice of the Middle. East. This •
region was the : birthplace .of the three
monotheistic. religions, Judaism, Chris-
tianity and Islam. Mrs. Finlay closed
with prayer.
Mrs. Cayleii, took charge of the offices
for 1990-91.
The . meeting closed with the mizpah
benediction. and a social time enjoyed.
with the committee serving' . ethnic
desserts.

who celebrated their 55th wedding an-
niversary quitely at home on January 15.
Their son Jim Maureen and Graeme of
• Belwood visited them .on the weekend.
Dianne and Jackie Wilson have return-
ed from Florida. where they spent then
days visiting their grandparents, A.J. and
Tillie Wilson.
Sympathy is extended to Ken and Ruth
Jardine and other members of the fami-
ly in the passing of Jean Jardine in
Winghem Hospital last week,

The Lucknow Town and Country Club`
met at the Legion Hall on January 15
and enjoyed' a pot : luck meal at. 12:15.
President Joan Robinson opened the
meeting at 2 p.m. withall singing the
Queen and the theme song. Members
were reminded of the auction March 5,
also a bus trip to the, Geritol :Follies in
June. Maurice. Audet will be the guest
speaker on April 2:
Susan McNaughton took the chair in
honour of Robbie Burns, with the follow-
ing
ollowing program: the Scottish Dancers with
Isobel. Shepherd as leader favoured with
a number of dances through the after-
noon; readings by Grace Gibson, The Old
Fashioned Car, Susan MacNaughton,
What are Men Coming To, and Shopping.
These . readings were mixed with Scottish
