schools, Bund meeting teachers. This is an

District Collegiate Institute and some to
F.E. Madill Secondary School. They are

Miss Rattlers' Grade 1-2 has been busy

hangings, a winter fun board and many
snow pictures. Winter sure is a fun time!
In Math, we are drilling our adding and
subtracting facts. Grade Ones know all
the facts to five and the Grade Twos can
go all the way to 14.

Tuesday morning we had a visit from
Charlie Chaplin and some other people
doing comedy routines. In music class
our unit has started on ukulele's. In home
ec, we are painting shirts. We just finish-
ed a review in French. Wednesday we
started the next unit, .unit 14.

We have also started our speeches. In
English we're doing an SRA labratory.

Math: we are having a test. French:..
we had a test. History: we are doing
another essay. Science: we are starting
the science projects for spring. We are
doing adjectives and nouns in English. On
Monday we are having a geography test.
This week Mrs: Graham has been in the
hospital for her hand. We hope she gets
well very soon and hope she comesback
to school for good. .

Confederation research is in full swing
for the grade 8 classes, as students keep
working on essay writing skills. Mrs.
Worsell's grade 5 class is exploring the
dictionary in groups. So far we've found'
a noun with 60 meanings! Can you find
one with more? We have a new batch of
library Assistants, this term, some old
hands, and some new. Their shelving
help is certainly appreciated! Library

cutest little baby faces
The Johnson & Joluison Baby Products
Company is conducting its annual search
for Canada's 12 most adorable babies,
and your city may very well be harbour-
ing a winner.
The 1990 grand prize winner- will
receive a $25,000 post secondary scholar-
ship fund and will appear on the cover of
the 1991 Johnson & Johnson Adorable
Babies Calendar. The eleven runners up
will be awarded $10,000 scholarship
towards post secondary studies and will
as well be featured in the calendar as
"Babies of the Month".
Parents, grandparents, aunts and
uncles, amateur photographers and
friends of the little tots can proudly sub-
mit photos of babies - born after March
31, 1987 = along with a clever, caption for •
each photo. Entries will be judged on the
"adorableness"• of the . photo and the
charm and originality of the caption, not
