Midgets playing solid hockey
Lueknow vs Teeswater
Lucknow Midgets tiit the lee after a
long holiday layoff on *January 15 when
they hosted Teeswater.
In the first period Teeswater fired in
two quick goals to take the lead. Jamie
Jolvuiten was able to beat the Teeswater
goalie to put Ids team on the scoreboard.
Donnie Gammie and Rod Crieh assisted
on Jamie's goal.
The second period saw Teeswater. add
three more to put them up four goals at
the buzzer. During the third period
several penalties were handed out and no
goals were scored. The game ended 5-1
for Teeswater.
This Teeswater team likes to play a
tough game and Lucknow were not about
to be intimidated, this resulted id several
penalty minutes being clocked up.
Teeswater received twe, name minion*
ducts and a major, while Lucknow took
one game miseonduct.
Luckuow vs Howick
Lucknow travelled to Howick for a
game on January 18, Adrian Rau opened
the scoring when he took a pass from'
Jamie Johnston and put Lucknow on the
scoreboard. Howl* came back to tie the
game before the period eneded,

Despite the uneven score, this was a
good even game, wen played .by both
teams. While suffering from a few. looses
lately, -the Midgets can play a good solid
game and in 00 doing provide good com-
petition for any team in their division.
They have missed the, work of some
regular players due to injuries and '
.penalties. ' •
Next game: January 22 at 8:45 when
Teeswater is in Luclutow. Good luck

Novice' A lose to Clifford
On Tuesday jan. 16 Lucknow Novice A Novice A's beat Godeeich
hosted Clifford. Lucknow fell behhid early team in Exhibition Play
and by the end of the second period the . On Jan. 18 Lucknow Novice A travell-

SOIL FERTILITY COURSE
The Ontario Ministry of Agrigulture •
and Feed is offering a two-day workshop
• on soil fertility'. The course will feature
the latest information, on nitrogen,
• phosphorous, potash, micrffnutrients, pH,
soil testing, manure value, soil Compac-
tion and soil management. The course
will be of most value to individuals who -
• have riot participated in the course
before.
Two courses are being offered. The
first is at the Ontario Ministry of
Agriculture and Food office in Clinton on
January 29 and 30. The second course is
• at the Belgrave W.I. Hall on February 14
and 15. The course is from 10 a.m. - 3:30
• p.m. each day. Enrolment is limited. To
