Mrs. Bob Finlay chaired the meeting which was opened by a vocal solo tendered by Mrs. Gerald McFarlane. The theme for the devotions was 'En- counters at the Well'. The scripture was read in dialogue form by Mrs. Finlay, Mrs. George McBride and Mrs. Dan Logan. Mrs. McBride followed with meditation on the women at the well. The next order of business was to divide the ladies into groups for a questionnaire and Bible study. Mrs. Cliff Crawford clos- ed devotions with a prayer. Mrs. McBride read a poem, `Gathering at the Well' and the offerings were taken. A letter from the Canadian Foster Parents Plan was read by Mrs. Logan and the program was closed with a prayer from Mrs. Findlay. Mrs. Cam Thompson presided over the business portion of the evening's meeting. Twenty-one members answered the roll call with an interesting note about their vacation. Thanks was expressed to those who helped at the home -coming weekend and it was announced that Rally Day will take place on Sunday, September 27. A special story -teller will be present at that time. The reports were given next. Mrs. McBride reported on supply while Mrs. Crawford answered questions on com- munity friendship. Flowers were handled by Mrs. A.J. Wilson; Mrs. Clarence Rit- chie reported on the social functions; amnesty was covered by Mrs. Gordon Cayley and Mrs. Ken Cameron gave her treasurer's report. Mrs. Cayley was the pianist for the hymns at the meeting and the mizpah benediction closed the evening's events. The money was used to purchase the ankle -foot orthoses Neil requires to walk following a serious farm accident last February.
