Local Lions wrap up another year The Lucknow and District Lions Club has just finished a very busy year under the direction and leadership of Club Presi- dent Jim Bain. The club completed many community betterment projects throughout the year having just finished painting the changerooms at the pool and refurbishing the building used for a food booth by the summer playground. Fund raising events for the year includ- ed the annual Tractor Pull, the St. An- drews Ball, Robbie Burns Night and, of course, the annual Easter Seal Campaign. Donations totaling approximately $5,200 were made to the Lions Foundation of Canada, the Lucknow Boy Scouts, the Wingham A.M.R., the Hemophilia Society, the Wingham Day Care Centre, the Lucknow School Band, The Bruce County Library, the Womens House of Bruce, the Salvation Army, the Lucknow Pee Wee and Bantam Hockey Teams, Wingham Homebound, the Home for the Deaf, Lake Joseph, the Easter Seal Campaign, Bachelor Night, Homemakers, the Salva- tion Army and the Jack Reavie School. During the 1986-87 year, five new members joined the club bringing the total membership to 58. The executive for the coming year will see Brad Petteplace as president with Bob Burgman, Orville Elliott and Joe VanOsch acting as first, second and third vice- presidents respectively. Dave Black will take on the duties as secretary with Donald McKinnon serving as treasurer. Directors for next year will be Bob Cranston, Ken Hamilton, John Pollard and Jack Cammeron. Wolfgand Weber will act as Lion Tamer with Pete VanOsch and Mike Goetz handling the Tail Twister duties. The members of the Lucknow and District Lions Club would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone in the area for their continued support during the year and are looking forward to serving Lucknow and area in the years to come.
