You won't see this side of the stage from the seats at the Blyth Festival. This is the
sound and lighting room were all the action you see on stage is coordinated. Here,
soundman Greg Hounsell checks the equipment prior to the evenings performance of
`Girls in the Gang'.
Local Lions wrap
up another year
The Lucknow and District Lions Club
has just finished a very busy year under
the direction and leadership of Club Presi-
dent Jim Bain. The club completed many
community betterment projects
throughout the year having just finished
painting the changerooms at the pool and
refurbishing the building used for a food
booth by the summer playground.
Fund raising events for the year includ-
ed the annual Tractor Pull, the St. An-
drews Ball, Robbie Burns Night and, of
course, the annual Easter Seal Campaign.
Donations totaling approximately $5,200
were made to the Lions Foundation of
Canada, the Lucknow Boy Scouts, the
Wingham A.M.R., the Hemophilia Society,
the Wingham Day Care Centre, the
Lucknow School Band, The Bruce County
Library, the Womens House of Bruce, the
Salvation Army, the Lucknow Pee Wee
and Bantam Hockey Teams, Wingham
Homebound, the Home for the Deaf, Lake
Joseph, the Easter Seal Campaign,
Bachelor Night, Homemakers, the Salva-
tion Army and the Jack Reavie School.
During the 1986-87 year, five new
members joined the club bringing the total
membership to 58.
The executive for the coming year will
see Brad Petteplace as president with Bob
Burgman, Orville Elliott and Joe VanOsch
acting as first, second and third vice-
presidents respectively. Dave Black will
take on the duties as secretary with
Donald McKinnon serving as treasurer.
Directors for next year will be Bob
Cranston, Ken Hamilton, John Pollard and
Jack Cammeron. Wolfgand Weber will act
as Lion Tamer with Pete VanOsch and
Mike Goetz handling the Tail Twister
duties.
The members of the Lucknow and
District Lions Club would like to take this
opportunity to thank everyone in the area
for their continued support during the year
and are looking forward to serving
Lucknow and area in the years to come.
