On Tuesday, June 23 the Lucknow
Squirts defeated Nuestad 20 to 10 in an ext-
citing
xrciting game of fastball. Clint Murray pit-
ched five innings allowing just four hits
with eight walks. Keith Todd pitched the
final two innings and allowed no hits while
walking seven batters.
In the game, Lucknow had three hits
each from Keith Todd and Chris Mac-
Donald. Adrian Helm and Joel Sutton had
Friends'in Kinlough were sorry to hear
that when Mr. and Mrs. Jack Webster of
Edmonton, Alberta were on their way to
visit friends here, Jack had an unfortunate
fall and is at present a patient in the
University Hospital in London after
undergoing surgery. We all send Jack best
wishes.
Mrs. Agnes Hodgins, Eleanor McFarlan
and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Gillam of Kincar-
dine visited Friday with Edna and May
Boyle. Eleanor grew up in our village.
Mr. and Mrs. Norman Fry came and got
her father, Mr. William Haldenby and took
him to Harriston for a few days. Mrs.
Haldenby is making favorable progress in
the Wingham and District Hopsital.
Mr. and Mrs. George Barrell of Toronto
visited on the weekend with Mr. and Mrs.
Haldenby and Mr. and Mrs. David Halden-
by and family.
Mrs. Eric Thacker accompanied Rev.
Meralyn Leston to London for the election
of Bishop O'Driscoll at St. Paul's
Cathedral on the 20th of June.
Mr. Donald Barr of Waterloo and Mr.
and Mrs: Morley Bushell of Wingham
visited on Saturday with Mrs. John Barr.
Also, Bill and Lorraine MacPherson
were pleased to have a visit from Jim
Stevens of Listowel.
Merideth and Darryl McClutcheon of
Lions Head have been in the area this week
visiting with their grandparents Mr. and
Mrs: Gordon Robb.
Visiting with Rhetta and Marion
MacLennan for a few days was Florence
and Shirley MacLennan of Kitchener.
Visiting with Dorothy MacLennan over
the weekend was Peggy Hefferman and
Christine McFayden of London.
Cecil and Jim Webster of Waterloo spent
the weekend at home with their mother
and on Saturday they travelled to
Goderich to see Mrs. Norma Young. Later
that evening they had a chance to visit
with neighbors Charles and Mayme
Wilkins.
Elizabeth Wilkins of Mount Forest was
at home on the weekend to see her parents
Charles and Mayme.
Ewen and Marg McLeans had Mrs. Ross
Calvert of Sarnia visit with them recently.
On Thursday Kae Webster had a chance
for a chat with Georgia Mitchell of Kincar-
dine and visiting for a few days with Baryy
and Betty Jones was Barry's sister and
brother-in-law Jim and Lenore McGill of
Thorndale.

The Huron Soil and Water Conservation
District of the Huron Soil and Crop Im-
provement Association will be holding a
Soil Conservation information day on
Thursday, July 16. The theme of this
year's event is "Tillage For The Times".
This event will give farmers an oppor-
tunity to view conservation farming prac-
tises on the farm of Jack and Norma
McGregor. The day will concentrate on
Jack's success with ridge -till farming, the
tools he uses and the economics of this
system.
The day starts at 10 a.m. with tours of
farm and machinery. The McGregor farm
is located 21/2 miles south of Clinton and
one mile west of Hwy 4.

Squirts pushed their record to seven wins
and three losses by defeating Cargill 17 to
7. Clint Murray pitched all seven innings
allowing six hits and walking seven. Steve
Porter hit a grand slam -home run and a
single for the winning team while Clint
Murray added two hits. Joel Sutton, Chad
Stanely, Jesse Foster, Adrian Helm,
Jeremy O'Neill and Dean Tiffin came
away from the plate with one hit each.
Both Chad Hiller and Adrian Helm made
some outstanding catches in the field for
the local team.
