The second annual Excellence in Education Awards Banquet, sponsored by the Huron
County Board of Education and the Ontario Secondary School Teachers Federation, was
held at Holmesville on April 29. Recipients from F.E. Madill Secondary School in

Afternoon SMS meet at Pinecrest

The Lucknow Afternoon Women's Mis-
sionary Society held its May meeting at
the Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home with a
good attendance.
Mrs. Rhoda MacKenzie presided for the.
meeting with the Call to Worship and the
prayer. A number of favorite hymns sung
with Mrs. Donald Moffat at the piano. The
23rd Psalm was read in unison followed by
the Lord's Prayer.
The program was prepared by Mrs.
Peggy Henderson and Mrs. Donalda Mof-
fat. A reading was given by Mrs. Donalda
Moffat. Mr. Alvin Mundell played the har-
monica accompanied by Mrs. Marion
Mundell favored the members with a
number of musical pieces.
Mrs. Mildred Loree read a poem and two
piano duets were played by Mrs. Donalda
Moffat and Mrs. Peggy Henderson. Mrs.
Celia Aitchison read two fitting poems per-
taining to Mother's Day.
Mrs. MacKenzie thanked the Pinecrest
Nursing home for the chance to meet - and
share the program with the residents and
also to all who took part.
A skit "The Hat Parade" with Mrs.
Peggy Henderson at the piano brought a
smile to the residents.
Refreshments were served and a social
time followed.
