Kinettes active in 1986-87
The Lucknow and District Kinette Club,
although small in number, has had a busy .-
year in 1986-87.
Some fun -raising projects have included
the $100 Shopping Spree at the Lucknow
Village Market, the Christmas Bazaar and
several reception lunches.
Alex West
Alex West, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jim
West, graduated from the Radio College of
Canada with an Electronic. Engineering
Technology Diploma on Friday, March 13,
1987. He is presently employed by
Williams Communication Services Ltd. of
Oshawa, Ontario.
The club appreciates the continued sup-
port of the community in all their
endeavours.
In the line of service work, the club has
been involved in several activities.
Recently, a portable fetal heart monitor
was purchased for the Lucknow Medical
Centre. A set of children's table and chairs
were donated to the Lucknow Library.
At Christmas, the club organized a short
trip for Pinecrest residents to view the
Christmas lights in Wingham and
Lucknow. Montgomery Motors donated
the bus and Don Hackett did the driving.
Hopefully, the residents who went, enjoyed
the outing.
The club also spent a pleasant evening
on February 17 with the residents of the
Sepoy Apartments. A meal was served to
the residents, followed by a few games of
cards.
Both the Kinsmen and Kinettes worked
on the. Heart Fund canvass with $1,269.50
being raised in Lucknow. Thank -you to all
who donated.
• The Kinettes continue to support many
organizations such as Cystic Fibrosis, the
Hemophilia Society, Easter Seal, the
Wingham Centre for the Homebound and
others.
The Kinette Club's small group of six ac-
tive and three honorary members feel the
support of the community for these pro-
jects makes the time spent most wor-
thwhile. Two of the club's largest projects,
the Fashion Show on April 21 at the
