The Holyrood Women's Institute held a
successful euchre party at the Community
Centre ( former school) on Monday even-
ing with eight tables in play. Winning
ladies were Mrs. Don McCosh and Mrs.
Don McEwan. The lucky gents were Ezra
Bushell and Don McCosh. All enjoyed a
social time together.
- Mr. and Mrs. Ted Evans of Ballinafad
visited over the weekend with Mr. and
Mrs. Bert Nicholson and Lois at
Kincardine.
Mrs. William MacPherson returned
home from the Kincardine and District
Hospital where she was a patient for a
while. Glad you are home, Lorraine!
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Vande Klippe of
Kincardine, Miss Michele Hodgins of Lon-
don and Murray Barr of here flew to Mex-
ico for a holiday.
April Vande Klippe spent the weekend
with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack
Barr.
Mr. and Mrs. Morley Bushell of
Wingham visited with Mrs. John Barr on
Sunday.
Recent visitors with Bill and Lorraine
MacPherson were Mr. and Mrs. Stewart
Lane and daughter Joy, Mrs. Bessie
Mullin and Mrs. Art Phillips.
WMS meeting
The Kinlough Presbyterian WMS
January meeting was held on Wednesday
at the church with Mrs. Glen Haldenby as
the hostess.
The president, Mrs. Bert Thompson,
opened the meeting with a poem and
prayer, followed by a hymn.
The rollcall was "Thoughts for the com-
ing months of this new year". Mrs. Don
Robertson gave the report of the
1 resbyterial held in Wingham. .�
The business part of the meeting
followed.
A request was made for motorcycles for
pastor's in India, also assistance for the
Armagh Home for Troubled Women and
Girls was asked for their consideration
and help.
Mrs. Glen Haldenby read the devotions
and gave the Scripture reading. She also
read an article from the Glad Tidings
about Zacchaeus. The challenge was to ac-
cept our commission, go forth asking for
God's guidance.

Prayer and refreshments closed the
meeting.
UCS holds January meeting.
On Tuesday afternoon Jan. 20 the DunganC
on UCW held their first meetingof the yea

in the church basement. The meeting open-
ed with a reading of the Motto of the United
Church Women in unison. A "New Years
Prayer" was read by Jean Errington.
Helen Dawson conducted the Bible study
and questionnaire on family life. Answers
were found in the Bible and a discussion
followed. In conclusion she read "In
Defence of the Family." A skit "Bloom
Where You Are" was enacted by four ladies.
The skit helped members understand that it
is their Christian calling to teach Christian
values to their families and children.
Jean Errington presided for the business
part of the meeting. Minutes of the
December meeting where read and approv-
ed. The financial statement for 1986 and
treasurer report was given by Helen

Dawson. There was a letter explaining how
the mission money was spent. The dusk to
dawn light was installed in December.
Members agreed to use their mission boxes
again this year. In March the group will
make some crib quilts.
To commemorate the 25th anniversary of
the UCW organization, the hostesses Jean
Errington and Helen Dawson served a cake
for dessert. A picture was taken as a
remembrance of the event. Grace was sung,
and after cake and ice cream, a social time
followed.
