Callers on Tuesday with Mr. and Mrs.
Victor Emerson were Cindy Moore, and
Mrs. Muriel Thompson of Wingham, and
on Wednesday, Mr. and Mrs. Tony Strak-
ker of Belgrave while visiting with her
father Cliff Rowlings.
Storms last week really gave the region
blackouts.
The Whitechurch Presbyterian church
congregation completed their meetings for
January and will meet for February in the
United Church.
Mr. and Mrs. Dave Wharton of Highway
86 near Whitechurch visited on Sunday
evening with his father, Hugh Wharton at
Bray. Lodge.
Mrs. Lorne Durnin accompanied Mr.
and Mrs. Fred Tiffin to Wingham hospital
on Sunday to visit her husband Lorne
whom she has not been able to visit on ac-
count of storms. Mr. and Mrs. Tiffin called
on Mr. and Mrs. Emerson at Bray Lodge
and visited with Lorne Durnin and Bob Orr
at the hospital.
Bill Forster is now a resident at the
Lucknow Retirement Home. The com-
munity wishes him years of happiness
there.
WMS meeting
The WMS held their meeting for January
last Wednesday at the home of the presi-
dent, Mrs. Walter Elliott. The leaders
were Mrs. Elliott and Mrs. Archie Purdon.
The leaders each presided for a portion of
the meeting.
The Scripture Luke 4,14-30 were read by
Mrs. Elliott and the Meditation was given
by Mrs. Mildred Purdon. The members
discovered at the Presbyterial that the
WMS is 100 years old this year. A celebra-
tion is now being planned to mark the occa-
sion. The topic for the meeting was New
Beginnings w ► ' c as given by Mrs.
Purdon.
