Kinlough couple has visitor last Tues4ay
Mrs. Tom McDonald visited Mr. and
Mrs. Don Bushell at Kinloss on Tuesday. .
Friends and relatives from here attend-
ed the funeral of the late Charles Hedley at
Teeswater on Tuesday afternoon. Sym-
pathy is extended to the bereaved.
Mr. and Mrs. Ezra Stanley of Lucknow,
Larry and Brett Stanley of Kincardine and
Mr, and Mrs. Tony Howald of Lucknow
were visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Leonard
Stanley, Cathy and Terry.
Relatives here received word of the
death of Winnifred Lloyd, wife of Clifford
Lloyd of Tonawanda, New York. Clifford
was raised at Westford and later went to
Tonawanda where he settled down. Fami-
ly members include their son Clifford and
. his wife Shirley and family of Rochester,
N.Y. and another son Peter. A son Paul
and a daughter Mary Anne Opera
predeceased their mother. William and
Arthur Haldenby are step brothers of
Clifford.
Pastor and Mrs. M. Christensen spent
Thursday in London with relatives and
Mrs. Christensen (Sr.) is also having a
holiday in the city too.
On Wednesda evening a shower was
held at the Pen costal church basement

The Lucknow WI met in the town hall on
January 13. The' Education and Cultural
Activities convenors were in charge of the
meeting and served a delicious dessert and
tea.
Fourteen members and nine visitors at-
tended. The Opening Ode was sung and the
Mary Stewart Collect was repeated by all.
Grace Gibson chaired the meeting for
the business. Jean Whitby read the
minutes and the several thank -you cards.
The Rollcall was "What do you think is the
greatest threat to Canada's future/" Many
different ideas were expressed. It , was
decided to hold a card party in the near
suture. Mabel Whitby, Glace Gibson and
Elizabeth Robinson are the committee in
charge.
Kay McIntosh chaired the meeting for
the program. Kay gave a reding and the
motto, " ducation is wit us all through.
life," was very ably iven by Edna

organ selectio . which were much en-
oyed. ' - " hompson showed the slides of
ealand's natural beauty. This was
very interesting. Kay thanked Ruth and
presented her with a gift.
The meeting °closed with the singing. of
God Save the Queen.

motion but as they could not get a seconder
the motion was not put to a vote and was
not entered in the minutes. There is much
to fear if the new Board or committee
votes such a similar motion in the year to
come. The Board is . not qualified to make
such judgements only a professional
Librarian. We have our likes and dislikes
towards an . author and when politics and
books. clash, that is often called
censorship.
The latest twist in Library affairs is that
the meeting for January has been postpon-
, ed from it's regularly scheduled date and
put off till the end of the month. Why, the
new chairman didn't know why when I

Mrs. Frank Maulden, who has spent the
past month at Fonthill with Mr. and Mrs.
Arthur Phillips and other relatives, return-
ed home here on Sunday. Her sister is here
with her for a while.
