The prayers were lead by Mrs. Wightman. Three New Year's verses were read by Mr. Arnold, Mrs. Lemoine and Mrs. Ruby MacDonald along with a story by Mrs. Houston. The minutes of the last meeting were read and adopted. The treasurer's report was given and the offering and the membership,' were dedicated. The members discussed a number of money- making projects for 1987. Mrs. Walden suggpted that the unit study the 12 apostles for the coming year. Rev and Mrs. MacFarlane were visitors and Mrs. Cayley, the UdW president, spoke on projects and meetings for the Luckno„x-.0 ited Church's 125th anniver- sary. January 11 is the 25th anniversary of the Lucknow UCW. The workshop at Five Oaks fdr the mis- sions will be held on February 7. The Presbyterial will be held at the church on March 2 and the flower months for the unit are April, August and December.. Rev. MacFarlane closed the meeting with prayer. After Grace a lovely lunch was served. Unit 4 By Mrs. M. Thompson Unit 4 of the Lucknow United Church met on Tuesday, January 6 with an atten- dance of 26. Mrs. Cam Thompson presided for the program with the theme, The New Year. Following the Call to Worship, the scrip- ture was read Mrs. Cliff Crawford. Mrs. 5AVE. Crawford and presented with a gift,/ iGlrs. Bill Graham played two lovely piano solos. Following a hymn, the ply - gram was closed with a prayer. Mrs. Gor- don Cayley was the pianist. Mrs. Harold Greer, unit leader, con- ducted the business, opening with a poem. The rollcall was answered by the payment of fees. CHURCH 4 4 Reports were given by: Citizenship and Social Action - Mrs. Stuart Col~ver; Com- munity Friendship - Mrs. Cliff C„ awford; and treasurer - Mrs. Ken Cameron. Mrs. Cayley presented suggestions for the 125th Anniversary celebrations ak.d asked for discussion on events and ideas. Volunteers were asked for the program committee for the February meeting.
