Lancers split weekend series
- against L1on'S Head team
On Friday night, the Lucknow Lancers
took the long bus trip to Lion's Head with a
motley crew of nine players and two
goalies.
Lion's Head 7 Lancers 3
Lion's Head came out roaring in the first
period with four quick goals before
Lucknow centreman Allan Eadie hit the
net for the first of two for' the night.
In the second period, there was a lot of
good, solid hits by coach Greg Hamilton
who suited up for the game. He collected
an assist, feeding Allan Eadie for his se-
cond goal of the game ending the period
4-2.
In the third period, the Lucknow legs
were weak as Lion's Head came back with
three more goals. Art Clark, after tripping
their defenceman, picked up the puck and
blasted a 30 -footer past the Lion's Head
goalie for the Lancers' final goal of the
game.

Game two was a different story as. the

the home of Mrs. Roy Finlayson on
Wednesday, January 7.
Mrs. Henry MacKenzie, vice-president,

Seventeen ladies answered the rollcall

only he intentionally kicked the puck into

As the game went on, hard hits

Lucknow were Grant Gilchrist with two
goals and three assists, Kevin Clark with
one goal, Brad Humphrey with a goal and
an assist and Paul Maclntyre, Dave Gib-

Mystery Man
This week's mystery man is Steve
"Guy" Simpson. Steve is the Joe Montana
of hockey, setting up many tricky plays
with his twinkle toes moves to deke the
other team right out of their socks. Guy is
a good team man who likes to voice his opi-
nion on and off the ice as he is the Lancers'
reporter. Obviously, he's a man, who's not
only handy with a stick, but also with the
pen. Steve is a real crowd pleaser and can
be seen on Sunday nights right here in
Lucknow at 7:30 p.m. Don't miss it!
The Lancers' next game is against their
Ripley Rooster rivals in Ripley on Friday
night. Come out and cheer the Lancers on!
