Tykes take tumble against Teeswater The Lucknow Tyke dressing room was full to the brim with 19 of the 20 players, all eager to accomplish the big task at hand - to avenge an earlier loss to the fleet -of -foot Teeswater Tykes. Teeswater came to Lucknow on January 10, looking to put another notch in their belts. They defeated the Lucknow boys (and girls) earlier in the season by a 9-1 count. Teeswater 8 Lucknow 1 This time, as well as the last time, the Teeswater team put on a superior skating and stick -handing exhibition in. beating Lucknow to the puck which ultimately resulted in goals. The game ended 8-1 in favor of Teeswater. For Lucknow, it was again a game of missed opportunities, as goal posts and good goaltenders continued to foil the Tyke shooters. Near the end of the game, defenceman Ian Paolin's shot, which look- ed to be a sure goal, somehow stayed out as the goalie reached back to save the goal. The lone Lucknow goal resulted from a goal -mouth scramble as defenceman Craig offat managed to jam it home to spoil a Teeswater-shut-out. The yke team was sorry to learn that their scrappy little winger, Miranda McDonald, will be lost to the team for some time as she suffered an ankle injury at home. Get better soon, Miranda.
