Thank -you for all the co-operation you've given us throughout the year," said Kincardine OPP Staff Sergeant Al Neville. • Between Dec. 16 - 20 Kincardine OPP were called to eight motor vehicle accidents, six of those were property damage accidents and two were minor personal injury acci- dents. • On Dec. 17, Kincardine• OPP charged one 52 year old Lucknow man and a 17 year old male young, • offender from Aubton with pos- session of narcotics. Bothmen were arrested with a small amount of marijuana during a search warrant of a Lucknow residence at 10:30 p.m. Kincardine OPP wereitasisting Winghaun OPP sin the search for stolen isfoperty. • The Stole' property ii stilt under investigation, however, OPP say charges are pending. OPP say the theft is still under investiga- tion. A 1985 Buick was stolen' from a Queen Street residence in Tiverton on Dec. 18. The car was found by the owner that night in Patterson Park stuck in snow. 'No charges have as yet been laid. A 29 year old Tiverton man will appear in Kincardine court on Jan. 21 charged with having an alcohol level over .08 mg. The man was pulled over by OPP on pawl on Highway 21 North Bruce. West Wawanosh taxes to be collected twice yearly; opt out of employee benefit plan The e new council for the • municipality of West Wawartosh Tovvnship, reeve Robert Hallam, • deputy -reeve Alex Chishohn, and councillors Walter Elliott Richard Foster and Ronald Snowden, held their inaugural meeting, on Decem- • ber 3. Each member. of council signed the oath and declaration of office, attested to by the,clerk,.Joan Annqtrong. • Taxes withip the municipality will now be collected in two payments, with due dates to be June 25 (60%) and November 25 (40%). Council deferred a request, trom the Town and Country • HOMemakers, for a grant, until 1992 at the time of setting the budget. Mrs. Annsirong was authorized to request the township be placed on the mailing list of the Fair Tax Commission, noting the area of interest to be Property Tax Reform, Rhea Hamilton -Seeger, who was recently appointed by the members of the last council as West Wawanosh representative on the North' Huron Community Develop- ment Steering Committee, reported to the new council members on the composition and accomplishments to date of the committee. Council voted in favour of Mrs. . liamilton-Seeger remaining as the township's reiresentative on that committee. • AJ. Blyth and District Volunteet Fire Council voted unanimously in • favour of hiring, with the permis- sion of landowners, trappers and hunters approval by council to remove beavers at a cost of $25 per animal, to a maximum of 50 beavers annually, commencing December 1, 1991. This action was deemed expedient due to the nuisance and damages caused by beavers to farmland, woodlots and fish habitat in the township. Landowners are required to check their wetlands and report any beaver problems to council three times per year, spring, summer and autumn, with non-resident lan• - downers to have a township resident entrusted to act on his/her behalf in this regard. Audimization was given to the reeve and clerk to apply to the Ministry of the Environment for a grant underthe Waste Management Improvement Program to covering the monitoring program at the township landfill site• . December 12 At the December 12 meeting of council, members voted unanimous- ly that those sitting on council will not be included and covered under the Huron County -Wide Employee Benefit Plan, unless each member pays for his own coverage. The use of graded,lumber will not be mandatory t� obtain a building permit fcir farm buildings, in the Township of West Wawanosh, unless the use of ungraded lumber would contradict provincial code and preclude obtaining government grants. A bylaw prescribing regulations and standards for the maintenance and occupancy of property in the township was passed. The Procedural Bylaw 1049 was amended by inserting under "Deputations", item 16, wording to the effect that those addressing council shall when giving notice to the clerk •State the nature of the business on which council is to be addresthd. General accounts in the amount of $1,0555 were approved for payment. s
