Rural leadership awards announced.
Cliff Hicks and Lionel Wilder
were the recipients of the 1991
Rural Leadership Awards at a ban-
quet held Monday evening.
"Huron County:. An Agricultural
Leader V Dinner" was hosted by
the Huron County Junior Farmers at
the Auburn Community Hall.
"Held during Agri -Food Week the
evening is used to promote agricul-

Leadership Awards for their
contributions, leadership and
dedication to Agriculture and the
Rural Community in Huron Coun-
ty," explained Robert Hunking of
the Huron County Junior Farmers in
a recent press release.
Quilters start
fall season
The September 25 meeting of the
Five Star Quilters Guild was held in
Teeswater, with 35 ladies present.
Rollcall was answered by telling
of an article presently being worked
on.
The programs for the 1991-92
season were distributed, along with
the September news letters.
During the business portion of the
meeting memberships were ac-
cepted and it was decided to hold
the next quilt show in October
1992. Tickets are available on
Guild's large and single quilts and
two pillows, to be drawn on
November 29.
Judy McKinnon spoke on the
Plowing Match to be held in
Walkerton in 1993. The Guild's
project is the centennial rose pat-
tern.
