Dr. Connell, who is a Lucknow boy, is a recent graduate of the Toronto Medical College, where he had a very successful career, and •the public will be pleased to know that the town and surrounding country is to have the benefit of his services. He is having office rooms fitted up on the seeond floor of the Anderson Elotk. PAYING FOR THEIR FUN Three cases of violating the liquor laws were tried at a magistrate's court here last Thursday. Mr. Tolton, of Walkerton, presided. W.J. Armour, of Kincardine, was fined $50 and costs for being drunk in a public placeand another $50 and costs for driving an automobile while in an intoxicated condition. The offence meowed north of Tceswatcr, Mr. Armour having made the great mistake of sleeping off his overdose of tanglefoot in his automobile on the road near the, Methodist Parsonage at Salem. It cost bim $138.50. Russell ' Fisher was another Kincardine man to suffer tinder the law. He was assessed $100 and costs, in all $134, for being intoxi- cated in Ripley on the day of the -Races. Inspector White laid the charges. David Johnston paid $15.50 for using abusive language to Constable Fellow, of Goderich. Evidently with Inspector White, now a provincial constable as well, ;and Constable PelloW about i* aa -- well to cut out the whiskey and bad language. Various factors entered into the Board's decision, not the least of which is decreasing attend- ance at the fair and a cetudn lack of interest in the continuance of the fair. ' Wingliam Fair Board earlier in the year announced thatthere would be no fair in ,that town this year.
