The game went into a five minute sudden death over time and al- though Lucknow played well Stephen Township proved to be the winner when they scored to end the game with 1:27 remaining. Final score Stephen Township 3, Lucknow 24 Goalie Adam Cameron was rewarded with the Most Valuable Player trophy in the final game. Other members on the Lucknow team are defencemen Mike Wyndham and John VanDiepenbeek with ane team -being coached by Carl Stanley, Grey Hamilton and Jim McGee. Atom B's meet tough Kincardine team After a Christmas break, the Lucknow Atom B's saw action .Saturday on home ice, with the visiting Kincardine # 2 team. Kin- cardine came on strong and scored just 37 seconds into ' the game. Three more goals made it 4 - 0 • after the first period. Part way through the second perkid, Gabrielle Clarence cleared the Kincardine defence for a breakaway. On closing in, she was improperly checked giving way to a penalty . shot. Gabrielle made good on the opportunity and put. Luck - now on the scoreboard. Although Kincardine scored seven more, times, Lucknow made them work hard. They played very defen- sively and were robbed several times trying to penetrate the Kincar- dine defence. Though,the final, score was Kin- cardine 11 Lucknow 1, the team was up against a very disciplined opponent. Let's work hard at penalties this week and see what next week brings. Atom A's take more than the. give Lucknow 5 Mildmay 1 On December 21, the Lucknow Atom A's continued their homes - tend _ but were certainly not in the giving mood as the holiday season might suggest. The boys hit the ice determined to avenge and earlier loss to the Mildmay squad. Lucknow took it to. Mildmay right off the opening face-off only to be turned back by Mildmay's goalie every time they had a scoring chance. Lucknow finally scored halfway through the first when Ean Moffat potted a Greg Courtney rebound. Mildmay soon replied with a goal of their own, but it was all Luck- now ucknow from then on. Second period goals came from Shane Petteplace with two and Chad Freeman. As- sists went to Craig Moffat (two), Ryan Hackett and Jonathan MacK- innon. Third period scoring was Chad Freeman, from Bari Moffat and Brent Carneron, making the final score 5 - 1 for Lucknow. Lucknow's goalie Jay Humphrey again played a _strong game, par- ticularly articularly early in the third when Mildmay"came out flying looking to get back in the game.Bantam house lea Lucknow 5 Teeswater 1 . After having a break over the tourney scheduled Christmas holidays the Atom A's hit the ice on January 4 to start a hectic four games in five days. Teeswater opened the scoring after having most of the play in Lucknow's zone most of the first period. Lucknow seethed to finally wake up and scored two of their own before the end of the first.
