Honoured at reception
On'Sunday, November 14 a reception was
held at the Adelaide - W. G. MacDonald
,School to honour Mr. W. Graham ,MacDon-
ald B.A. M.Ed. on his retirement; as.
Superintendent of Schools - Student Services
Middlesex County Board of Education.
Graham is the elder son of Mr, and Mrs.
W. F. MacDonald and grew up on the. 4th
concession of Kinloss Township. He attend-
ed. Grey Ox and S. S. No. 12 Huron Public
Schools and Lucknow High School.
He began his teaching career at S. S. li, 4
Wawanosh (St. flelens) 194749. He later
taught In Petrolia and London from 1949-57
and became Associate inspector of Public'
Schools, Middlesex in 1957 and Area Super-
intendent from 1958 to 1982.
A slide presentation showing pictures
from his fast school at St. Helens through
his teaching career and his broad work as
Area Superintendent was most interesting.
Family . pictures and the many church and
community protects with which he and Freda
have been involved were also included.
The large crowd in attendance showed the
great esteem held for Graham by all his
associates and friends..
Graham and Freda were presented with a
beautiful chime clock. Money contributed
will be used for a special scholarship.
Son, Bill, on behalf of his sister, Anne and
brother, Jim, presented a portrait of their
father to be hung in this school. which is
named after him..
Graham's parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. F.
MacDonald, sister, Margaret and brother,
Dr. J. M. MacDonald of Sarnia, were all able.
to attend.
Both Graham and Freda plan to enter
Knox College„Toronto, in January to begin
studies in Theology to become ministers of
the Presbyterian Church of Canada.

Zinn, Mr. and Mrs. Evan Keith, Mr. and
Mrs. Chester Hackett, Mr. and Mrs. lra

Kinloss township pass by-law_
regulating topsoil removal
Kinloss Township council meetings were
held on October 18 and on November 1 with
reeve Barry Johnston and all council present
for both .meetings.
On October 18 ' building permit applica-
tions were approved for Naris' Messenger;
lot 22 conc. 3, to demolish a fraise house and
for Rod Havens, plan 231 lot 41, to construct
a garage.
A motion . was made to advertise for
tenders for snowblowing (a) part of Wash
ington .and George Streets plan 101, east of
Lucknow and (b) the Kinloss waste site for
the .1982-1983 season, tenders to be in the
Township office by 5.00 p.m: on November
1.. •
By-law number 12=1982 was given three
readings and passed. It is a by-law to regu-
late and to prohibit the removal of top soil
within the township-

tender of Addin Dawson to blow snow on
Washington and George Streets at” the rate
of 532.00 per hour. '
The road superintendent was instructed to
apply to the Ministry of Transportation and
Communications for supplementary grant on
the cost of repairs to the engine„of the D-740
road grader. •
A motion was passed not to approve the
application for a, permit for Lloyd and
Roberta Whytock. north part of lot 11, conc.
3, to remove top soil under by-law number
12-1982 of the Township of Kinloss since
under sub -section 5(c) the removal of the top
soil from the site applied for will be
detrimental to the entire lot for normal
farming purposes using acceptable farming
practices.

whether their exercise is productive.
