The new Priest at St. Augustine, Father Frank Detinger, spoke on Living life as a good Catholic and treasuring your faith. Father then asked a few questions about the Parish and the League activities, so that. he Church holds successful fowl supper Lucknow United Church held another very successful Fall Supper on October 19th. Approximately 426 people sat down to eat = in the Fellowship Room, with an- other 33 meals being sent out to shut-ins in the community and others who wereunable to attend. Most everyone in the :congregation is involved in someway with this annual event. The congregation was also very pleased with the re- sponse to the Anniversary Services this year, held on October 3, Dr. Robert Mc- Clure, former missionary. and Moderator of the United Church, proved to. be a very dynamic , and fascinating speaker at the morning ser- vice. Jack Whytock of.White- church, who is an Intended Candidate for ministry in the United Church, was the speaker at the evening ser- vice, and also played two selections on_ the violin, ac- companied by pianist, Hugh Sinnamon. • Ten members of the Luck- now United • Church Youth Group met at the manse on Sunday, October 17 , with leaders Glace • Alton and Warren McDougall to plan activities for the. 1982-83. season, Their next,.activity. will be a bowling party on Saturday, November 20 at p.m. At the social time fol- lowing, Craig Irwin will be in. Morgan Hend- erson on October 19 to honour Mrs. Philip Stewart who is leaving Lucknow to live in London. Mrs. Stewart has been a valued member of the W.M.S. for many years and always gave of herself most generously. Mrs. Jim Aitchison gave two appropriate readings on, Friendship. On behalf .of the W.M.S. ladies Mrs. Noble., Johnson presented Mrs: Stewart with a gift and spoke of her faithful. service to her W.M.S. and church.
