By Marie Park Approximately 25 riders were entered in the 10 kilometre bike -a -thou on Sunday at Nile to raise money for Sunday School Supplies. Paula Vanderburg raised the most money for the girls and Steven Stothers raised the most for the boys. Door prizes were won by Judy Kerr and Marlene McDonald. Holly Park was the youngest participant while Ann Feagan was the oldest rider. Mrs. Robert Irvin and Mr. and Mrs. Percy Blundell of Goderich visited with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Stirling, Harold and Darlene at Thamesvffie on Sunday. Sympathy is extended to the family of the late Elmer Debold who died on Satur- day, October 9 at the age of 35. Fimeral services were held on Tuesday, October 12 from the Stiles Funeral Home, Goderich with inter- ment in Ball's Cemetery, Auburn. Harry Brindley Auctions held another successful sale on Saturdaf afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Steve Waller and lAmanda of !elleville visited on the weekend with her parents, Lloyd and Doris Hodges. On Sunday they all enjoyed Thanksgiving with the other Hodges family members at the home of Dennis and Val Vanderburg at the Nile. Company on Monday with BM and Marie Park and, family were Mr. and Mrs. Steve Park and Holly, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Bendig and Joel and Vicki Park, all of Goderich, Jim Fowlie of Clinton, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Park and Tim Hodges of Dungannon. The group was fortunate to have as guest speaker, Ellen Edminston, a 'volunteer worker from the Grey -Bruce Crisis Cadre in Owen Sound. Local police state that an average of one case a week is reported to them for . assistance. Mrs. Thompson presented a gift in ap- preciation. The top boy, Thn McNee raised over $80.00. Laurie Hayden top girl, raised over 138.00. The 25 or so riders raised $376.95 total. Dungannon Seniors • The monthly meeting of the Dungannon Seniors was held on Wednesday, October 6 at 7:30 p.m. with president Ted Bowers presiding. Secretary Evelyn Err- ington read the minutes of the September meethig. It was decided to hold euchres every two weeks rather than weekly with the lady members to bring lun- ch. A discussion on the hall rental was held with many pros and cons on the issue. It was also decided to have the ThriftShoppe open only one day a week &aim the winter months from 1:30 to 4 p.m. •4 • Euchre party There were 10 tables of euchre played at the seniors card party on Wednesday evening. High man was Eldon Culbert. Low man's score was Mel Jones. High lady's score was Beck Culbert and low score was Lisa Cunningham, Dungannon WI Dungannon W.I., meeting was held at the home of Mrs. Russel Alton on Thursday, October 7 at 8:30 pan. with 11 members and one visitor present. Roll Call, name an article I threw in the dump I wish I hadn't, was answered by some amusinganswers. The Motto, Happy Homes do not Happen, they are the results of family co- operation, was well given by Mrs. Alma Black. The topic, Culture, was taken by the guest speaker, Mrs. Gwen. Watson of Clin- ton. Mrs. Watson lost her sight when a child of six years of age. She was a blind teacher at Brampton for a number of years. Mrs. Wat- son showed her tplking clock, which told her th* time by pressing a button. Report of the Fall Rally was given by Mrs. Mn Black and Mrs. Willetta McWhinney, which was a very interesting day; Three' ladies received life memberships in the in- ititute. They were Donna Young, lia Crozier and Beth Rutledge.
