MacGregor turns his back
on Bruce energy centre
The driving force behind the develop-
ment of the Bruce Energy Centre is turn-
ing his back on the project,•
Sam MacGregor, who has ashed and
pulled the steam pr4ect since ft inception
m the mid 1910's, is dopOng off the strings
that have bound him.
He intends to turn all his energies
toward selling the assets of Resolute
Development,
Mosby afternoon he told The News

he and his seven employees will be snaking
every effort to sell Ins assets.
His firm owns several serviced lots in
town as well as subdivision properties
south of town including some in Boiler
Beach, Huron Bruce subdivision, Willow
West and Valley Bruce. It also owns an in-
dustrial rental building, an office -
apartment rental building and industrially
zoned property, A granular pit operation is

also numbered among its assets, Resolute
owns 50 per cent of the Sutton Park Inn.
"What we're trying to do is liquklate our
• assets," he said, f`sellmg everything we
can sell." There is no deadline for ac-
• compliehing this project.
Resolute will be "paying attention to
selling" instead of splitting its time with
efforts to get .the Brute Energy Centre
underway, ••
Mr, MacGregor is still one of the initial
investors in the Bruce Agri/ark but he
said he has no way of knowing what the
future holds for that kwestment, •
What Resolute is doing nmv, he said, is
"addressing the real world.
However, Resolute has prepared a
•report that outlines how it could play a
part m the energy centre as' a private
developer,
• But Mr. MacGregor said Tuesday morn-
ing that report has not yet been delivered
to anyone although he los requested an in-
•
vitation\ to submit it.
