Huron .County Council has contributedto
the portion • of the cost . not ° covered by
ministry grants, but Bruce County has not
made a contribution. Reeve George Joynt
said -the ,1981.82 fiscal budget had already
been set when the county was approached to.
make a contribution to the costs of operating
the °day centre, where Bruce County
residents including residents from Lucknow,
Teeswater, Culross and Kinloss Townships

the interest of the Township of
Ashfl =" at heart and took an active part. in
°municipal affairs, in politics he was a Liberal
and in his early yearsan active worker. He
served as councillor for several years and as
reeve in the years of the war, 1915 to 1917.
As well as interest in civic affairs, he had the
welfare of the com+ tunity and church at
heart. The funeral service was held from4he
home`of his nephew, Archie, MacMurchy, at
which Rev. R. MacDonald paid fitting
tribute. Interment took place in Kintail
cemetery, Pallbearers were Colin MacGreg•'
or, John MacKay, Hugh MacKenzie, Earl
Howes, Gordon Drennan and Will Johnston.
He is survived by one sister, r Mrs. Olive
Finlayson, of Toronto, who was present,
with members of her. family. Also present
were many other friends and relatives, Mr.
and Mrs, Bain . Stewart; Mrs. Rose, of
London, the. Ferguson family. of Hamilton,
the Dunbar family, of. Ethel, Rev. W.Mathe-
son, of Chesley, Annie MacMurchy, of
Goderich. The memory of Chas. Stewart will
long remain in this community. ,
County decided they did not have money
available for this fiscal year because their
budget was already set.
Reeve Joynt said he told representatives
of the ,day centre to make- application' for
funds in the 1982-83 budget by submitting
their request in October or November before
the budget is. set::
Lucknow Council decided they would not
contribute to the funding of the day centre
because Bruce County will probably give the
matter consideration . in their . 1982.83
budget. .
