Gertrude Walsh celebrates birthday

Wednesday afternoon when
former neighbours and
friends gathered onthe occa-
sion of her mother, . Mrs..
Gertrude Walsh's birthday,
The ladies were warmly
greeted by .the hostess and
her. brother, Jackand his
Wife. Alretta Walsh who
came home from Meifort,
Saskatchewan for the happy
occasion, . •
The dining room table was
a place of attraction to see
the. lovely birthday cake
which was made andiced by.
Alretta who had it carefully
packed and brought \it with
them. It was truly a work of
art. .
Everyone enjoyed a pleas-
ant chat and the honoured
guest opened her love gifts
presented by the ladies. She
looked lovely in her pretty
dress and corsage to match.
A little program was given
and Marion and Alretta
served a most delicious
lunch.

thanks to everyone for- rem-
embering her on her birth
day. Marion gave everyone a
tour of their new home and
all hope she and Miller have.

cheon following the service.

Mrs. Margaret Harkness
was hostess for the July
meeting; . of the Kinlough
Presbyterian W.M.S. Mrs.
Tom McDonald presided in
theabsence of the president.
Mrs. John Barr and Miss
Winnifred Percy were in
charge of the program. Mrs.
Barr chose the Good Samar-
itan and it was followed by a
question and answer period.
Miss Percy had the medita-
tion about Jesus attitude
towards others and a group
discussion followed on how
we react towards various
nationalities.
Suitable hymns were sung
and all repeated the Lord's
Prayer to close the meeting.
A time .of fellowship was
enjoyed at lunch time.

His job is also a lot of

public relations, that is, to
make everyone more aware
of 'what is going - on in the
organization. He commented
that • members in both the
Iluron and Perth federation
have been very helpful to
him.
Being a fieldman is a full-
time job, but Mr. Stephenson
also works a 70 -acre farm
just west of Varna with his
brother and father. Former-
ly his grandfather's farm, he
purchased it in 1976. It's not
far from where ;he was rais-
ed either, on - a farcejust
south of Varna.
He has a forest technician
diploma and for the past six
years has worked for a
surveying company in
Goderich. He received his
diploma 'from Sir. Sandford
Fleming college in Lindsay.
While still in school, he spent
summers working for the
Ausable-Bayfield Con-
servation Authority.
He likes his job, as there is
a lot of potential in
agriculture and challenges
as it progresses rapidly.
He has his wife Leisa, have
one son, Michael, 2.

Gordon Wilmer Reid . of
Lucknow died at Wingham
and District Hospital on July
30, 1982 following failing .
health, in his 71st year. ,
A retired farmer, he was a
member of Lucknow Presby-
terian Church. Born in Ash-
field Township. on March 6,
1908, he was the son of the
late John Henry Reid and the
late Charlotte .Ann Erring-
ton, both .of Dungannon. ,
He is survived • by four
sisters, •.Mrs. J. Radcliff
Murray (Frances), Lucknow;
Mrs. John Finnigan (Nora),
Wingham; Mrs. Albert Tay-
lor (Catherine)', R. 2, Luck -
now and Mrs. Mel Stewart
(Clara), Goderich and two
brothers, Stuart of Lucknow
and Jim of . Goderich.
He was predeceased byhis
parents,a brother, Robert; a
nephew and a niece.
The funeral was' held Aug-
ust 2, 1982 at 2 p.m. from the
MacKenzie \and McCreath
Funeral Home in •Lucknow
where Rev. Hugh Nugent of
Ripley conducted the service.

at a luncheon on Saturday.

zie to honour Miss Isabelle
Macintosh on her 95th birth-
day. Miss Macintosh was
boin on the second. of Huron
Township and has lived most
of her life in Hamilton, Sheis
now a resident of the Mait-
land Manor Nursing Home at
Goderich,
lain and Carol MacKenzie,
Chris and Mirelle of Cobourg
visited last week with their
family, Mr, and Mrs, Frank
MacKenzie and Mr. and
Mrs. - David Eadie, Matthew
and Erin.
