Locha:lsh couple attend 90th birthday celebration •

• Webster visited with Mrs,
Viola •Farquhar at Alexan-
dra Marine and General
Hospital in Goderich on July
15 to celebrate Mrs.• Far-
quhar's 90th birthday. The
celebration was topped off
with a lovely birthday cake
presented by, Mrs. Far-
quhar's Sister, Mrs. Norma
Young. • •
Mrs. Farquhar farmed
with her husband near Clin-
ton until his' death in 1962.
She then lived with her sister
-in Clinton' until being
hospitalized this past
December.
An active lady whose in-
terests include crocheting,.
tatting andreading, she•en-
jo(yed visiting with
neighbours and callers. She
has a very cheerful disposi-
tion.
Mrs. Farquhar has one
do ghter, . Kathleen, Mrs.
Wellington Webster, ' three
grandchildren and one
great-grandchild.
Elizabeth Wilkens,
daughter of Charles and
Mayme Wilkens, has Ireceiv-`
ed word from the F. E.
Madill Secondary School ki"
Wingham. that she came
seventh in the All Ontario
Typing Division. Elizabeth is
a Grade 12 student and is the
first student- from Wingham
to place in thetop ten. Con-
gratulations Elizabeth.
The annual Johnston pic-
nic was held on the weekend.
There ; wee 65 family
members present. They
came from Windsor, Toron-
to, Bracebridge and London'
and also- a number, of .people
from'the surrounding area.
George 'and Jane Ullrich
and their three daughters of
London were home with
George and Betty Moncrief
and also took in the Johnston.
picnic on the weekend.
Visiting with , Ross and
• Jean MacKenzie on the
weekend were their two
sons, Kevin of Toronto and
Bill, Barbari and three girls
of Goderich.
Grant and . Lois Farrish
and George. and Betty Mon-
crief were on a bus trip with.
the Karishia Institute . on
Wednesday. They went to
Elora, the Agricultural
Museum at Milton, the
Farmers Market in Kit-
chener, the Conestoga Mall
in Kitchener and visited. the'.
Kaufman Shoe Outlet in Kit-
chener. They all ' had a
wonderful day.
Danny and David MacLen-
nan. of Orangeville, sons ,of
the late Mr. Sandy MacLen-
nan, are spending the
weekend with their grand-
mother, Mrs. Rhetta
MacLennan.
Mrs. Margaret Morton and
her mother, . Mrs. Rhetta
MacLennan were in "Sarnia
the first of the 'week. While
there, Rhetta visited with
Mrs. Frank Fells, a sister of
the. late Mrs. Herb (Alice
Mae) Ensign, formerly of
• the Lochalsh area.
Dr.'Geoff and Bette Torri-
ble andfamily of Kingston.
on. Saturday, July 10th had
lunch with Bill and Janet.

and later attended the wed
ding of Mrs. Torrible's niece,
Mary Kempton and Steven
McNay.
Mrs. Dave (Sharon) Hill of
Sydney, Australia, daughter
-of Bob•and Mary McNay of
Amberley, has been home
for a couple of weeks and at-
tended the wedding of her
brother, Steven McNay and
Mary Kempton. On Satur-
day, July 17, she left for
Australia again.
Alex and Cindy Simpson of
Calgary, Alberta, have been
home for ' a week with Mr.
and Mrs. Donald Simpson of
Kintail.
Bob has
of ,Aniberley,
who has been sailing on the
Great Lakes all summer,
has been home a couple of
weeks and attended his son
Steven's wedding. Bob is
hoping to stay a month as he
won't be home again until
the end of , the shipping.
