Thomas Hackett
Thomas Hackett of Luck -
now died suddenly .at his
home on Sunday, July 4,
1982 in. his 74th year.
Associated with Hackett
Farm Equipment for 37
years, Mr.' Hackett owned
andoperated the business
from 1950 until his retire-
ment in 1977, He remained
active in the family business.
he shared with his father and
then with his sons and grand-
son, until the time of ' his
death.
A member of the Lucknow
United Church, he was still
active in the Lucknow Lions'
Club.
Born in Ashfield Township
on June 9., 1909, he was the
son of the late' Alex Hackett
and ,the late Janet Hunter.
On June 5, 1929 •.he'
married the. former Tillie
Hackett in London, Ontario.
He is survived by his wife,
three sons, Donald of Ash-
field Township; Allan .of
Lucknow; Barry of Ashfield
Township, and five daught-
ers, Donalda, Mrs, Earl Jam-
ieson of West Wawanosh;
Freda,Mrs. Doug Langton of
Winnipeg, Manitoba; Lois,
Mrs. Laverne Cunningham
of Colborne Township;
Joyce, WS. Ken Elphick of
Ashfield Township and Kath-
leen, Mrs. Ken Ackworth of
London. He is also survived
by 30 grandchildren and 13
great grandchildren as well
as three brothers, Clifford of
Goderich, Melvin . of Port
Elgin and Alex of Ashfield
Township,
A sister, Maize, Mrs. Ph-
avis' Mathers of Lucknow,
predeceased shim.
The funeral service was

Home in Lucknow on July. 6,
1982 at 2 p.m. by 'Rev.

Violet May'Laidlaw passed
away Sunday, June 27, at
Wingham and District Hos-
pital in her 89th year. Born in
Brantford on October 28,
1893, she was predeceased
by her parents and by two
sisters in childhood. She
married. Robert John Laidlaw
in Whitechurch on .April 2,
1919, and he predeceased
her in 1974.
Mrs. Laidlaw was a mem-
ber of the Whitechurch Unit-
ed Church and a life member
of the United Church Wom-
en. She is survived; by three
sons, Clifford of R. R. 3,
Wingham, ' Raymond ' and
Arthur, both of Wingham.
Six grandchildren and :five
grPtat grandchildren also sur-
vive.

Pinecrest Manor Nursing
Home, Lucknow on Tuesday,
June 29 in her 85th year.
She was born to the late
William and Margaret
(Redmond) McCourt of
Wawanosh Township.
She is predeceased, by her
first husband Jack.Chishohn
andher second husband
Aubrey Higgins. ,,
She is survived by her
children, . Mrs.. Murray
(Marie) • Oke of Scar-.
borough,;• Leonard Chisholm
of Dungannon; Ronald
Chisholm of Edmonton,
Alberta; and Raymond
Chisholm of Goderich. She is
also ' survived by 11 grand-
children and one great
grandson.
A funeral service was held
on Friday, July 2 at. St.
Augustine Church. Reverend
E.J. Dentinger and Rev. Fr.
F. Dentinger officiated.
Interment • was in St.
Augustine Cemetary in St.
Augustine. .

Born in Kinloss Township
on June 25, 4900, he was the
' son .of the late Daniel Mcln-
ness and Mary Falconer.
He was a farmer all his life
until he retired in 1967. He
married .lane Ellen. Malloy of
Shallow Lake on March 1.7,
1927,.He was a member of
the Presbyterian Church:

Memorial Chapel, Teeswat-
er, where service was con-
ducted July 11, 1982.at 2.30
p.m. by Rev: Gerald Thomp-
son.
Interment followed in
Langside Cemetery.

Elizabeth Annie Nesbit
Annie Nesbit of. Lucknow
passed away June 26, 1982 at
Wingham and District Hos-
pital in her 82nd year.
.She was born on July 2,
1899, the fourth oldest child
of John Roach and Elizabeth
Marshall in Kinloss Town-
ship at Holyrood.
On December 28, 1 935 she
married Samuel' Nesbit. The
wedding took place in Lucan,
Ontario and they lived on the
second concession shore road
in Huron Township where
they farmed until' May, 1950
when they moved to . Luck -
now. Her husband passed
away October, 1964 and she
lived alone until 1977' when
she sold her farm and came
tomake her home with her
niece, Mr. and Mrs. Allan
Ritchie, R. 3, Lucknow.
She is survived by one.
brother, Ernest Roach of
Hamilton. and two sisters,
Mrs. Laura Herd, Ripley and
Mrs. John Blackett (Vera) of
Glencoe and a sister-in-law,
Mrs. Eileen Nesbit, Ripley.
She was predeceased by
two sisters, Mrs. Bill Miller
(Sadie); Mrs. Thomas Cul-
bert (Emma) and two broth-
ers, Bill. and George.

interment in Greenhill Cent-

By -low No. 30.42 was passed pursuant to the.provislons of Sectlon•31 of The Planning Act,
R.S.O.,101i0; •
.The purpose of By-law No: 30.12 is to amend the Corporation's comprehensive By-law No.
11.02 to change several provisions of the By-law. The changes as set. out in thusly -law are •
general in nature, rather than affecting a specific property, and. cover the following mat-
ters:
*clarification of the provisions for non -conforming and
non -complying uses
*permitting the Corporation to construct a read in any '
'zone I
*clarifying ' the watercourse setback provisions .
*changing the setback provisions in Residentialzones
The By-law applies to all lends within the Corporation of the Township of Huron.
THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF HURON
Restricted Area By -Low NO. 30-82
BEING a By-law to amend By=law. No. 11.02.
WHEREAS the Council of the Corporationof the Township of Huron deems itadvlsable to
° amend By-law 11-12;
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the 'Corporation of the Township of Huron enacts as
follows:
1. . Section 4.3.1 (d) (1) is hereby repealed in its entirety and the following insert
ted in its place:
"(1) Such restoration shall be completed within one year. Thereafter the use of
the lands must be in conformity with the provisions of the zone, within which it
is, located:"
2. Section 4.3.1 (d) (111) is herebyy repealed in its entirety. •

,3. Section•4.4 of By-law 1142 is hereby repealed in its entirety and the following.
inserted in Itis place: •
"4.4 Notwithstanding any other provision of the By-law, lands, buildings, or
structures which conform to the uses permitted in the applicable zone but do
not comply with one or more other provisions of the By-law may be used or
strengthened to a safe condition as provided for in the non -conforming uses
sectionof this By-law.".
4. Section 4.1.1 (a) is hereby amended by adding to the end of the Section the
words:
"or prevent the Corporation from constructing a street."'
S. 'Section 4.14.5 is hereby amended by adding•to the end of the last paragraph of
the Section the following sentence:
"Notwithstanding the foregoing the parking of one school bus on a lot In a
Residential zone shall be permitted."
6, ' Section 4.25 is. hereby' repealed in its entirety and the following adopted in its
places
"No person shall hereafter erect any. permanent building or structure which is
closer than 30 metres • from the' top -of -bank of any watercourse or open
municipal drain. a
7. • Section 7.2 (c) 1s, hereby repealed in its entirety and the following inserted in
its place: .
�"t) Minimum Building Setbacks
Ali) Front Yard - 7.5 metres
11) Side Yard • 4.5 metros °
111) Rear Yard - 7.5 metres"
8• Section 0.1.1. (c) of By=law 11-82 is . hereby repealed in. its entirety' and the
'flowing inserted in its place:' •
"c) Permitted inthe side yard but not closer than 2 metres to any side lot
line."
9.. Section 10.2 (c) of By-law 1142 is hereby repealed in its entirety and the'
following inserted in its place:
"c) Minimum Building Setbacks
I) Front Yard - 7.5 metres
1i) Side Yard - 4.5 metres
111) Rear Yard - 7.5 metros"
10. Section 12.2 c) of By-law 11.112 is
following inserted in its place: •
"c) Minimum Building Setbacks
