The Lucknow Branch Library has just received a new
exchange of 300. books from the central office at Port Elgin.
This' includes many brand new books direct from the
publishers and others new to the Lucknow Branch. They will
be out on display for the next monthand can be taken out
like the regular collection for three weeks use. There, is no
charge to become a library patron.

M. Montgomery,
For the reader who enjoyed the "Anne of Green Gables
books, this collection. of stories will take them back to the
same setting. You meet again the characters from the.
village who were once neighbours of the Blythes. Anne is
married, with grown-up children and recalls many strange
and funny tales and bits of gossip she heard° as a child.

newest residents, Mr. and
Mrs. Ed Green. The Greens
came from the Teeswater
area. Mr. Green is a retired
farmer and they will be living
in the ' former Woolhouse.

BobI Siecker has moved to
Owen Sound, . since he has
found employment there. He
will be. living temporarily
with his brother and sister-
in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John
Siecker.
Adrianne and Stefan Mak-
oi skis ' and Susan Perks re-
turned home to Willowdale
following a week's visit with
their cousins, Christina, Am-
anda and Virginia Todd.
While visiting, they all enjoy-

the recent .construction on
the 12th 'concession the tele-
phone cable was cut accid-
entally: Apparently Bell Tel-
ephone had located -the old
cable instead of the new one.

Whitechurch Adventurers
discusschoosing a campsite
The second meeting of the
Whitechurch 4-H dub was
held on. Tuesday, July .6, at
the home of Mrs. Elliott.
Seven members discussed
possibilities for a club name
and the Outdoor Adventurers
were chosen.
Mrs. Purdon discussed
four -fold living, a philosophy
known as the Danforth Dare.
Danforth, a founder of the
Ralston -Purina Company,
believed that one's life
should be divided into equal
components of physical,
mental, social and religious
aspects.
Mrs. Elliott talked about
choosing a campsite and she
demonstrated the construc-
tion of jiffy bags from fabric
scraps.
Poisonous plants were dis-
cussed with special emphasis
placed on the recognition and
treatment of poison ivy. ,
The club members 'worked
on 'their jiffy bags.
President Kendra Purdon
opened the third meeting of
the Whitechurch Outdoor
Adventurers on Saturday,
July 10, at the home of Mrs.
Purdon. Marilyn Jamieson
read the minutes of the last
meeting. Club members
were asked to bring ideas for
book covers to the next
meeting.
Kendra °' Purdon demon-
strated the making of a trail
mix.. Club members were
instructed in the art of leaf
printing and took turns lay-
ing and following a trail
through a field.
Mrs. Elliott discussed the
making of Shish Kabobs and
the club members made
plans for the shish kabob
dinner to be served to par-
ents at meeting four. Mrs.
Purdon made a tin can oven
and cooked bacon and eggs
over it using a paper bag.
After sampling the trail
mix, the meeting was closed
with the 4-H creed.
