The centre is staffed by one .full time director, Rita Rice, • two part • time staff • members, and one, summer • student, Irene Martin, hired under the Experience "82. program: A number of volunteers assist Miss Rice ,by. helping with the program or driving. clients to . and from the Armouries: Miss Rice presented 'the • coordinator's, report. The purpose of the day •centre, dhe said, is "to enable elder- ly people to remain living independently in their .own homes, thus avoiding institu- tional care." • The centre operates on :a three-day .schedule• each week. An average of 17 • sseniors attend,daily from the communities of Wingham, Lucknaw, • Teeswiter, Brus- sels, Belgrave, Ethel, Blue- vale, Dungannon, Wroxeter and the outlying • townships.
