Octogenarian John Gaunt honoured at Whitechurch by family on his birthday

On Sunday the family.: of
John Gaunt invited friends
and relatives to open house.
in celebration of 'his 80th
birthday at his residence.
Family members present
were Jim of London, Harley
of Wingham and Mrs. Don
(Jean) Ross. Son George of
Woodstock, who, is driving a
transport could not be pres-
ent.
Other relatives from a dist-
ance were sister Merle of
Goderich; uncle Alex Mac- .
Kenzie, 97, of Lucknow;: and
Mrs. MacCallum, Lucknow
the Rev. and Mrs. John Bell,
Inverhuron and their grand
daughter, Debbie Fontaine,
John received many cards
and gifts from the gathering
of 93 folks. '
For supper a smorgasbord
was arranged and around 30
close relatives enjoyed this
time together.

was held on ' Wednesday,
June 17 at the home of Mrs.
John Gaunt. Mrs. Victor
Emerson welcomed all pres-
ent and meditation was given
by Mrs. Wm. Rintoul, Mrs.
Emerson led in prayer for the
-churches; older and younger.
The topic was a tape .re-
cording. by Mr. and Mrs.
Bertholete while in India.
He worked as a machinist',.
in . the hospital, and helped
with carpentry work, water
development and distribut-
ing quotas of food. •
Mrs. Emerson told of the
Cruff Hlls'community owned
by the MacLean -Hunter Pub -
fishing Company which is a
grand retreatfor congrega-
tions.
. The offering was received
and dedicated by 'Mrs. Wes-
ley Tiffin. Roll call was
answered by the word, "ser-
vant". •
