The Lucknow Women's In- stitute ladies sat down to a delicious pot luck dinner at 12.30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 13, in the Institute rooms. Following theOpeningajs_ and the Mary Stewart. Col- lect, Mrs. Grace Gibson, president, welcomed, the lad- ies and read a poem, Don't Ask Why. The minutes of the March meeting were read by the . secretary -treasurer, Mrs. George Whitby and the roll call was the paying of meni bership fees. A donation of $50.00 was given to Bruclea Haven, Walkerton and members of the Institute were invited to a tea on April 29th at Brucelea Haven. Lucknow Agricultur- al Society is to receive a donation of $40.00 from the • Lucknow Women's Institute to be put toward prizes for the 441 club members dis- play. Mrs. Grace Campbell was given a vote of thanks for •making akafghan which is to be sold, and the proceeds go towards Participation Lodge. The report of the district directors meeting held in Ripley, March 23, was given by Mrs. Armstrong Wilson. Mrs. Whitby read the minut- es of the 1982 annual meet- ing and the report of the different committees were given. Mrs. Gibson thanked the members for their sup- port', during the year., Mrs. Graydon Ritchie read the new slate of officers and Mrs. Wilbur Brown acted as installation officer. Mrs. William Campbell volunteered .to make a quilt block to be sent to the Erland' 'Lee Home. Each Institute member was asked to write a letter to Mr. Dennis Tim- , brell, Minister of Agriculture and Food, I 1 tth floor, 801 Bay Street, Toronto, M78 2B2 and congratulate him on his work and hope that .he continues the work of the Institute. The Clover Leaf • Valley Club. was the hostess Janice Hackett of Lucknow • and Helen Simpson of Loch- alsh received•their Provincial Honours. Both girls have coMpleted 12 clubs and both • attend •the Clover Valley Club'. The leaders were Mrs. Mayme Wilkins and Mrs. • Donna Arnold. Congratula- ' tions, girls! • • Mrs. Mayme Wilkins re- ceived a Five Year Leader- • ship Certificate for her •4-H club work.' Mayme has been leading for ten clubs. E. Madill Secondary School in Wingham. • Allan Finlayson of Toronto spent the weekend with his mother, Mrs. Dorothy Fin- layson. On Wed- nesday they went to Hanover to visit their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Darling. • Wellington and Kae Web- ster visited in Goderich on Thursday with Mrs. Norma, Young, and with Mrs. Viola • Farquhar, who is a patient in the Goderich Hospital. • Marion and Jack Smith of Dungannon visited one even- • ing last 'week with Welling- ton and Kae Webster.
