welcomed many visitors to its
worship service on Easter
'Sunday. The guest book re6
cords visitors from Ottawa,
Atwood, Burlington, Brus.,
sels, London, St. Thomas
and Walton. Special music
was offered by Evelyn Cook
and Elaine Steer who sang
the duet, I've Been To
Calvary; the senior choir
anthem was, In .Joseph's
Lovely Garden; Ken Irwin
and Paul Finlay (trumpets)
and Steve Atkinson (bari-
tone) played, Mansion on the
Hilltop,. Just a Closer Walk;
and In the Garden,prior to
the service, and Steve. Atkin-
son played, How Great Thou
Art, as a baritone solo during
the worship service.
The Paschal Candle, sym-
bolizing the triumph of the
Resurrection over darkness
and sin, was .fit by Carol
Ferguson. The candle will
burn each Sunday between
Easter ,and . Whitsunday
(Pentecost).
Despite a verystormy
palm Sunday, the Sacrament
of Holy Communion • was
celebrated at Lucknow .Unit-
ed Church on April 4. Palm
leaves were distributed to all
members of the Sunday
School and congregation.
Two beautiful floral arrange-
ments were placed in the
Sactuary by Mrs. Harvey
Hall of Port Sanilac, Michi-
gan, in memory of Harvey
Hall and Mrs. John (Marg-
aret) Hall, '
During. Lent, a large wood..
en cross, constructed of
cedar rails, was' present in
the Sanctuary. EacSunday,
a different symbol of Lent
was added to the cross: a
moneybag • (tile symbol of
Judas' greed), a chain (our
imprisonment to sins and
bad habits), a towel (humil-
ity), spikes (cruelty), and
palm leaves. On Easter Sun-
day, butteflies, as the symbol
of the Resurrection of Christ,
were the final symbols ad-
ded..
On Sunday, April 18th,- the
Rev. Art Scott led in the
worship service at Lucknow
United, while Rev. Warren
McDougall conducted the
service of Confirmation and,
Holy Communion at St,
Helens and Trinity United
Churches. At Lucknow Unite
ed, Elsie Houston and Clar-
ence Greer sang the duet, He.

"Family Fun Night", begin.
ning with a pot luck supper in
the Fellowship Room. Mem-
bers of the Senior Choir then
led in a singsong of 'old
favourites'. Rev. McDougall.
showed slides of the Peace
River district of Northern
Alberta, where he ministered
for five years before coming
to Lucknow;.

reach Committee'' of the
session, which organizes this
event . each year.
