Youth participate in service
The Young People of Luck -
now United and Lucknow and
South Kinloss Presbyterian
Churches, under the direc
tion of Rev. Warren Mc-
Dougall, Ruth Bell and June
Gilchrist, presented .their
Good Friday service at 8 p.m.
in South. Kinloss Church. The
Easter message was related
in the form of music and
narration,
Rev. . McDougall opened
the service with an invoca-
tion prayer and the congreg-
ation shared in the singing of
Easter hymns. The narrator
for the story was. Marilynne
Maclntyre and readers were
Lynn Alton, Cathy Hamilton,
Heather Howald, Steve
Hamilton, Chris Irwin, Reid
Murray, Danny Gilchrist,
Anne Hamilton, Jeff Ackert,
Glenn Raynard, Glen Gib-
son, Darren McKim, Fred
Davies, Dale Gilchrist, Kat-
rina Howald, Anne Alton, Jo
Marie MacCormick, Kaye
Morrison and Ken Irwin.
Trumpet music was sup-
plied by Ken Irwin and Doug

minutes of the last meeting
were read , by Lynn Alton.

Rev. McDougall pronounc-
ed the benediction at the
close of the service.
Thegirls then made Scot-
tish Currant Loaf, bowknots,
daisies, spiral twists, kolach-
es, and: hot dog buns. A
gluten experiment was also
performed.
Mrs. Strutton then read
from the members pamphlet,
discussing glazing, , brown-
ing, and how to rate bread.
The members then did the
Goofs and Solutions quiz.
The girls judged each others
loaf of Whole Wheat Bread.

Hugh Maclnnes of:Edmon-
ton spoke with his parents,
Leonard and Freda MacInnes
of ' Lucknow after arriving
there from the Arctic, where
he has been this winter with
the Arctic Personnel. He re-
ported temperatures around
55 degrees below zero; the '
ice where' they are drilling is
40 feet deep; Their camp is
500 miles from the . North
Pole. In the earlier part of the
winter there had been just 20
minutes of daylight. He was
flying back up the next day
which would be a four and a
half hour flight from Edmon-
ton:

which were much enjoyed.
