Carey, T. R. Patterson, J. II. Taylor
end E. C. Beacom, by virtue of their
win over twenty teams in the fourth
teem -of -four competition for the W.
L. Spencer trophy, under the auspices
of the Western Ontario Bridge Asso-
clatlon, which was held at Brantford
on Friday last, 1s tied for second place
stitb Galt and Waterloo teams, each
'laving Mx points. First place is held
M Tecumseh Duplicate, London. which
ht.e a score of twelve and one-third.
At Friday's meet. Ooderich, with
thirteen and a -half matches, led
twenty teams from London, Brant-
ford, Galt, Kitchener, Woodstock,
Waterloo, Shank and Part. Galt
was second with thirteen matches and
London was third, winning twe,ve and
a -half matches. -- -
Messrs. Taylor and Beacom headed
toe east and mat pair play with a
a rare of .ORO, and Messrs. Carey and
Patterson were third to Kitchener and

Marina local junior hockey _team, a

meats and social events taking place
at the same time, about one hundred
skaters and spectators turned out to
see the tun. Costumes were few and
only four of the eight prima for comic
and fancy costumes were promoted.
In only one class, girls' fancy costume,
did the Judges have to decide among a
number of entries. Tiny Lena White-
ly, attired in top bat and full "soup
'n' file" salla. von the prise. Har-
old Young (Indian) In the boys' fancy
class, George Dowker (pirate) in the

The races provided a good deal of
excitement as short dashes of three,
live and eight laps were run. Fre-
quent spills added to the fun, but no
one was injured.
