The season in poetry
Shining in the sky
Twinkling merrily
Among the other stars
Radiantly shining on Christmas Eve.

Christmas is fun
Hearing some songs
Ringing the bells
Itis a beautiful day
Santa was here -
Take off reindeer!
Merry Christmas everyone
Away we go to play in the snow
Santa can not come
By Kelly Stevenson,

See him on the roof tops
Around all the houses.
Naughty he is not.
Twinkling his little nose.
Always with a "ho ho"
ByAmy Austin,

Santa is big and fat.
And there nothing else as fat as that.
No one wants to be like that.
Trevor wants from Santa a bat.
And I wish I got a cat.

Snow
•
Snow is all around.
It comes softly to the ground.
Light and ,beautifully it comes down:'
' So quiet.
it is fun,
To stick out your tongue.
Snow flakes come,
And drop in your mouth.
Winter is such great fun.
To run; sometimes the sun will "come..
Snow is all around.
By Lisa Gollan,
Grade 3, Lucknow Central.
Shining in the sky.
Twinkling in the sky so high
Arriving at midnight

December Fun
I like December best of all because there
is a lot of. snow. After we have had an hour
ortwo out in the snow mom calls us in for
some hot chocolate. I like the Christmas
holidays because we get to'play out in the
snow as much as -we like. And we can have
friends over in the week instead of just the
weekend. 'I'm glad •we have winter. Most
people don't like it but I do. December is
fun except a lot of people get sick. But I like
it anyway.

My Shepherds' Story
It was Christmas Eve and all was well,
no foxes or wolves in sight. The Shepherds
watched all night and then they saw a star
but it was not an ordinary star. They
thought it was .telling them something.
Then they heard beautiful voices singing.
Angels told them about Baby Jesus. They
decided to go to Bethlehem. They walked a
long way. They came to the stable and saw
Baby Jesus and were so happy.

How I Spend Christmas Eve
Every Christmas my family puts up the
Christmas tree, my Mom and Dad put the
lights and garlands on, then Tim, Tony and
1 decorate the tree. When we are finished
Tony gets three nails and I' get the stock-
ings and Dad hangs the stocking up. Then
Mom and I go upstairs and make some
cookies for Santa Claus. I get something for
him to drink and five cookies and then Tim,
Tony, Mom, Dad and I' all go to bed.

My Favorite Christmas
My favorite Christmas was last year
-when we had three Christmases. First it
was at my house, it was fun! Then we went
to my Grandma and Grandpa Montgom-
ery's.
We had fun. We had dinner there.
We had turkey and pie, orange juice. The
next Christmas we had it at Grandma and
Grandpa Rutledge's. We had a great
supper. It was good, then we thanked
everybody -and went home. Boy was I full of
Christmas dinners. I think I' will pop!

On Christmas Eve
On Christmas Eve we put up our . tree.
After it was' decorated, it looked pretty. It
had things such as angels and horses and
toys. Then came the presents. There were
so many that we had to put them on top of
each other.
The next morning, after breakfast, we
handed out presents. I got a sweet china •
doll. And mom got a microwave oven. And
Jeff got a bike. And Muggins, my dog, got
a . steak for Christmas.

My Favorite Christmas •
I woke • up early one Christmas morning
and went into the living room and saw all of
my presents. I woke up my mom and asked
if I could open my presents. She said yes..
So I dashed into the living room and got my
stacking and all of my presents.. I couldn't
believe my eyes! I got a walkman, A -team
van, A -team men, A -team bad guys and a
lot more stuff, so it is—a Christmas to
remember!

How Sants Spends Christmas Day
• Santa used to . sleep all year long and
then on Christmas Eve, he /would get ,.up
and start getting the presents in his sack,
and he would call all the reindeer and tie
them up to the sleigh. If it was foggy be
would call Rudolph to guide his sled. Then.
Santa would give all the ,boys and girls
presents and eat the treats you leave him,
then he will go back to toy land and tell is
elves to make more toys for next year.
Then he will sit down and go back to sleep.
