High interest rates on long-term debt can be a
serious financial burden to the family farmer.
The Ontario Family Farm Interest Rate
Reduction program (OFFIRR) provides farmers
with some relief from high interest rates.
Under the program, grants. are available which
can effectively reduce interest rrates.to 8% for.
up to $200,000 of long-term debt. These grants
-of up to $14,000 -are intended to benefit all
9 eligible farmers with long-term debt:

The Pentecostal congregation had their
Christmas supper on Saturday evening
Dec. 14. They also honored their pastor on
the occasion of his •birthday, which is Dec.
17. Pastor and Mrs. Christensen went to
Milton on Monday for a family birthday
gathering: and dinner.
Last Sunday morning, all chinch services
were cancelled owing to the • inclement
weather. The Anglican Christmas service
was held over until' 2 p.m.• when families
and friends enjoyed the 'worship service
and carol sing. The Sunday School and
youth group took part. and a Christmas
supper followed. The Presbyterian con-
gregation, and Sunday School had their
Christmas entertainment in the evening on
Dec..15. '
Mr. and ' Mrs. Bill Burt plan to. spend
Christmas in Toronto with Mr. and Mrs.
'Ray 'Franscisco and boys and other family
members. '

Champion.steer In the prestigious Queen's
Guineas competition at the Royal Winter
Fair this year. This event was last won; by a
Huron County 4•11 club member In 1955
when the winner was Murray Gaunt.
