Your assessment is important because the amount of property tax you pay depends on it, in that the assessed value of your property is multiplied by your municipal and school mill rate to determine your, 1986, property taxes. 'Notices of Assessment have been mailed toproperty owners and tenants whose assessments have changed since last year. The Assessment Roll has now been delivered to your municipality for the purposes of calculating the amount of taxes you must pay•on your property in 1986. If you feel your property has been improperly assessed, and you have not yet made your appeal known, you still have until January . 7, 1986 to,, deliver or mail an appeal to the Assessment Review Board. And remember, even if you did not receive a Notice of Assessment, you still have the right to .appeal.
