Thirty-9ne ladies sat down to a delicious
turkey dinner served 14 the Anglican
'Ladies. in their parish hall at St. 'Peter's
• Anglican Church Dec. 10.
Mrs. Wesley Ritchie played Christmas
' music on the piano- while •the ladies —
gathered. Ruth Bogues, president. wel-
coined all. Mrs. Grace Campbell thanked
the4.caterers for such a delicious dinner and
Mrs. Cooper replied.
Jean Whitby read the minutes and gave
the report of the bazaar sales and pudding
sales. Tillie Wilson conducted some con-
tests and gave a Christmas reading.
Edna Young chaired the meeting for the
program. Christmas. carols' were sung and
Dorothy ' Brown gave the' motto: "Christ-
mas
fs a time for open house, open . hand
and open heart". The songbirds - Noma,
Campbell,' Grace Gibson, Elizabeth Robin-
son
and Mary MacGillivray - sang a couple
of numbers and 'all joined in on "I wish you
• a Merry Christmas".
Grace Campbell gave, an interesting
.reading and conducted a contest. Mrs.
Penny was the winner.. Santa Claus arrived
•and seemed to be in a poetic, mood and
read a poem on old age. He was in a jolly
Muocl' and resembled Elizabeth Robinson.
He presented a gift to each lady.

New songs are fun

" Mrs. Ottewell's Grade 3s are busy
practising for the Christmas concert.
They've had 'fun learning new songs for a
playlet that tells what happens when Santa
Claus tries to replace the reindeer.
Grade 6 •and Grade 3 have started a
buddy reading program.
Kindergarten 1 are making paper chains ,
" to .decorate their room. •
This has been "concert week" fdr. the
Room 4 Alphabet. The class has been busy ,
practising, "The Day the Transformers
Came to Brookside", with Nancy Camer-
on's Kindergarten 1 class. The Alphabet
also worked on secret Christmas construc-
tion with Ian Clark's help! On Monday
students received the first letters from
Hinton, Alberta pen,pals1 Jane de Boer is
(kir "Special Me" this week.
Mr. Liddle's*Grade 6 class met their
Grade 3 peer partners for the first time this
week. Christmas activities are beitrg
