Meeting hall is decorated
Mrs. John Mowbray was hostess for the
Christmas meeting of South Kinloss WMS'
held in the church hall on Dec. 3. The
hostess and directors, Mrs. Ramsay, Mrs. •
Campbell and Mrs. de Boer had the hall

President Mrs. Alla MacDougall wel-
comed members . and isitors' and opened
the meeting. with . p m, "The Spirit of •
Christmas". Mrs. R may led in the
reading in unison of the Christmas Beati-
tudes. Mrs. Roely de :Boer gave the Bible
study based on Luke 2. Mrs. Harold
Campbell told of the quiet, short life Jesus
spent, on earth but no other life has had
such an ef(ect on all mankind';
A . special Christmas service followed
when Christmas decorations were placed in
a basket of hay representing a manger.
Members in turn told what each symboliz-
ed, such . as the evergreen, symbol of
eternal life; the mistletoe, peace; dove, the
Holy Spirit; and many others. This was
interspersed; with the singing of carols
pertaining to the Christmas items. Some
were sung by all present and two by
members of the choir.
Those taking part in the Prayer Circle
were Mrs. Clark,Needham, Mrs, Ray
Buchmeier and Ms. Leonard Clarke.
The offering was received and the
offertory prayer given by Mrs. Harold
Campbell. '
A motion was passed that money from
the Ladies Aid be donated to the Sunday
School for Christmas candy. The purchase
of more Bibles , and Hymn books was
discussed. '
The . courtesies were given by , Mrs.
Harold Campbell. The carol, "The First
Noel". was ,sung and Mrs. Ramsay closed
the meeting with prayer.
Dance group places highly
Huron County Junior Farmers went to
the Sing Swing in Sudbury on the weekend
of Nov. 30 where the Square Dance Group
won fifth out of 13. 'Anne Alton and Rob
Essary,.placed second out of five couples in
the duet competition. '
Sympathy is extended to the family of
the, late Milvert Reidwho died Nov. 25 in
Goderich Hospital. Milvert' grew up, and
farmed on the Zicfp sideroad till he moved
to Goderich. '
Get well wishes go to Mary Lou Raynard
who returned home from hospital last
week.
U.C.W. ladies from Trinity attended a
social evening as guests of the Willing
Workers in Dungannon Wednesday even-
ing. They enjoyed the presentation ,of

slides on the making of cheese at the Pine
River Cheese Factory.
The Trinity Sunday School concert was
held at Brookside School the- evening of
Dec. 7 with' a golod attendance.
George Alton, son of Ken and Ruth
Alton, . RR ' T Lucknow, was recently
awarded a, $200 scholarship from Huron
County Council. George hadthe highest
• average from the County of Huron in the
Associate Diploma Program at .the Univer-
sity of Guelph. George is in his second year.
