Ev- erything was going according to plan as the team managed z 4 - 2 firstperiod lead which 'stretched to a 6 - 2 lead by the gam'e's mid -point and the game looked like a ropy of the first Harriston encounter. But the rain moved inside as an over -confident Lucknow squad stopped skating and dropped all r>•cognlzable forms .)f defense. Harriston poured 5 straight nto the Lucknow net to take a 7 - 6 lead aith just three minutes left in the game. Just when it appeared that the rain would hide the tears in their eyes, they managed to regain.some composure and salvaged a 7 - 7 tie with two minutes to go. Lancers have pair of 8-4 wins The Lucknow Lancers picked up a pair of wins ori the weekend as they doubled up on Milverton 8 - 4 and Drayton 8 - 4. Previous outings this season saw .the Lancers fall victim to the. Ripley Roosters twice and once to the Kincardine •Kings. Along with the new season came some new players this year as several players, from last year have joined the industrial league. Among the new faces on the team this year are Wayne Phillips, Eugene Johnston and Scott Mitchell who along with the rest of the team hope to play some entertaining hockey. The next home game is Dec. 1 brit the Lancers will be on show in Wingham Nov.. 29 for. an 8.30 start. Scoring for the Lancers on Friday night were Grant Murray with 3, Scott Mitchell with 2 and Jim Murray, Steve MacPherson and Jim Keller each getting one. For those keeping score,. this was Kellar's first goal but Jim says there are plenty more where that one came from. Ray Guay was steady in goal for the locals as he wasn't tested too often.
