The Remembrance Day Service was held
on Nov._ 11 at the Holyrood hall sponsored
by the Holyrood Women's Institute
President Mrs. Charles Murray, was in the
chair and extended . a welcome to all
present. The opening hymn was "0 God of
Love, 0 King of Peace", with Edna Boyle
pianist, Mrs. Cliff Roulston placed the
Kinloss Township wreath and the wreath
from Kinloss Central School at Holyrood.
was placed by Tammy Rolle. The two(
minutes silence was observed followed by
the singing og-':O Canada".
Mrs. HaroldSmith gave .a reading on
Remembrance Day. Pupils from Grades 3,0
4, and 5 of Kinloss. Central School favored
with two songs accompanied by Marilyn
Murray. /
Kinloss Reeve Barry Johnston brought
greetings, and congratulated the Women's
Institute for arranging a service .each year.
Mrs. Bruce Bushell •and: Mrs. William
MacPherson sang' a duet. Mrs. Frank
Maulden introduced guest speaker Rever-
end Robert Shaw of the Teeswater and
Kinlough Presbyterian Churches, who
gave an inspiring address.' He read a
Scripture portion and led in prayer. Mrs.
William MacPherson thanked the speaker
and presented him with a gift on behalf of
the institute.
Ladies from Whitechurch, Mrs. Russell
Ross, Mrs. Dave Gibb, Mrs. Wardrop,/
Mrs. Bill . Gibson, accompanied by Mrs.
Agnes Farrier, sang two ' lovely hymns.
Mrs. Agnes Hodgins gave a suitable
reading. The closing hymn was "0 God our
/ help in ages past".

Mrs. Jean .Hodgins and Miss Norma
Coutts of Wingham visited on Nov. 14 with
Edna and May .Boyle and enjoyed 'the
afternoon at the church fellowship meeting
and bazaar.
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Lickers of London
spent the weekend here with Pastor and
Mrs. M. Christensen.
On Nov. 11 Pastor and Mrs. Christensen
motored to Montreal to visit his mother
who will return home with them for a visit
before she goes to her daughter's home in
London for the winter months.
Mr. and 'Mrs. Mac McDonald of Kincar-
dine and Mrs. Bert Thompson .of Tees -
water visited with their parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Tom McDonald.
Jeffrey McDonald. of Kincardine visited
on Nov. 10 with Carl MacDonald.

the Masonic banquet at Lucknow on
Thursday evening.
ACW meeting
November 14 was a special day for the
Anglican Church Women when they wel-
comed friends and neighbours to their
annual Friendship meeting and bazaar
which they . look . forward to each year.
President Mrs. Delbert Hedley welcom-
ed everyone and all joined in singing the
hymn "What a friend we have in Jesus".
Edna and. May Boyle then led in a sing
song. "He's got the whole world in his
hands",' "Jesus loves the little children"
and "Thank you Lord for this day". Mrs.
Eric Thacker gave a splendid review of the
work of the Sunday School and of,the ACW
and the activities in which they participat-
ed.
Mrs. Roy Collins, .Mrs. Agnes Hodgins
and Mrs. Midford Wall each gave a
suitable reading after which the president
declared the bazaar open. ' She invited
everyone to see the lovely homemade
baking and hand made articles as well as
garden produce.
Recent visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Bill
MacPherson, Holyrood, were Mr. and
Mrs: Gordon MacPherson and son, Ron-
nie, from Stratford.
Community. Helpers unit started

This week Mrs. Young's Grade 1 class
started a new unit called Community,
Helpers. The class are also starting to print
stories now with the help of Mrs. Sygrove.
Mrs. Black and Mrs. Sproul came in to help.

On Nova 8 Room, 9, Room 7 visited the
Dungannon Cemetery. After working
through the group assignments, the
student knowledge of the early settlers of
Ashfield and . West Wawanosh Township
was greatly enhanced.
The senior girls and boys volleyball' have
been busy practising for their upcoming
tournament' at G.D.C.I.,
On Wednesday Kindergarten I made
paper plate kittens. The class planted
paper white narcissus bulbs in stones and
water and is measuring them regularly as
they grow. quickly.
On Nov. 12 Mr. Cameron's Grade 8 class
went to Toronto for the day.They went to
the Hockey Hall of Fame and after went to
the program Career 2001, 'Mr. Sygrove and
Mr. Tremeer went along.

Brookside to speak on his home in New
Zealand. He showed many interesting
slides of the North and South Islands.
Mr..Stinkell is spending' a week at
Melissa Logtenberg's home as part of a
Junior Farmer exchange.
Mrs. Allen's Grade.5 class is working on
centres in language with most centres
based on a "Pets" theme. The class also
enjoyed Matt Maxwell's, French concert at
Victoria School, this week.
The Room 4 Alphabet has lots of book
activities ' and reading going on!
This week Marion Doucette visited the
class to teach how to make Gobbly. Gook
puppets to go with the Liza Lou book.'
Room 9 gobbly-gooked'all day with Room
3! Deb Helsinga also came to help start
the new Transformer and , Go -Bot theme.
Mike Culbert is the "Special Me" > this
week.
Group takes in -Royal WinterFair
Cletus Dalton 'and Gerry Logtenberg of
Ashfield Township and John Sunckell, of
New Zealand, staying with the Logtenberg
family on a y4pung farmers exchange, were
guests of Ken Alton on Nov. 12. The group
went to the Royal Winter Fair in Toronto
where all enjoyed exhibits. '
Happy birthday to Duncan C. Allan who
turned 80'years old. Duncan celebrated his
birthday AA the home of Jean and 'Bob
Simpson of Kintail. Dinner guests were
Donald. and Edith Simpson, Jack and Doris
Allan of Camlachie. Open house was then
held for Duncan as he received well wishes
from friends and relatives.

by spent their last weekend' at the Elliott
farm.
Happy birthday to Graham' Cook of
