prize, $300 second prize and two third
prizes of $100.
Lions Club member Al Hamilton noted
that 208 prizes will be given out during the
52 weeks and that for every 14.5 tickets
there will be a winner.
Two other methods of collecting money
have already been completed or set under
way. In July a kick-off party was held to
announce the club's intentions and that.

The plans for the complex call for an
arena with a larger ice surface • with the
same ice plant, a racquetball court and

Capital costs
McConkey also 'informed council of the
financial requirements for capital expendi-
tures. He said a suryey by a Hydro crew
discovered 552,300 of work that needs to be
done on utility property,
• The estimate includes replacing worn
out substandard equipment on Willough-
by, Stauffer and Inglis Streets, Campbell
• Street from Montgomery Motors to Have-
' lock Street at a cost of $30,000, Havelock
from Gough to the former Silverwoods
• building and Ross Street from Willits' Tire
to Canning Street.
wouldn't suggest you do it all in one /
year," said McConkey. •
Reeve George Joynt complained that
although work is continually being sug-
gested by Hydro; the corporation has little
or no time to do it. Contracting out isn't an
answer because businesses authorized by
• Hydro to do the work are equally busy.
"It's OK to take a survey and recom-
mend what should be done, it's getting it
done," said Joynt. There is a carryover of
• $15,000 from 1985 from work not complet-
•/
e•d but budgeted for.
Service calls S20
McConkey suggested that under miscel-
laneous items the council raise the service
• call rate when it is a customer request for a
reason other than safety.
His suggestion of $7.50 per trip, making
a
service call round trip 115, brought an
• objection from Councillor Ab Murray.
"Reconnection should be 550 instead of
5730. That's terrible, it's at least one
• hour's wages for the men," said Murray.
McConkey • said that most utilities pay
$10 or $12 for the service.
"The way gas is you can't drive the truck
next door for that," said Murray.
His protest resulted in council's agree-
ing to a round trip fee of, 520.
